CATDOLL: Is the highest grade abalone worth more than 20,000?

1. Is the highest quality abalone worth more than 20,000 yuan?

To be honest, it's not worth it, but there's nothing I can do. If you go to a big hotel, it'll be NT$50,000, not to mention NT$20,000. It's really not easy to catch two abalones in the deep sea, because they can't be caught with a normal net. They live below the bottom of the sea, and in very deep places. But according to reports, the best two abalones only cost a few thousand dollars when they come back from the sea. It's not worth it. It's just that it's hard to catch, so the price is increased.

Second, why are abalones with two heads more expensive than abalones with other heads? Are they larger in size? Are they of better quality?

An important criterion for distinguishing the grade of abalone is the number of heads. The so-called heads refer to the number of abalones of uniform size in a Simajin (i.e. 600 grams), such as 2 heads, 3 heads, 5 heads, 10 heads, 20 heads, etc. The fewer the heads, the bigger the abalone is, and the more expensive it is. Therefore, there is a saying that it is difficult to buy 2 heads of abalone even if you have money. 1 head abalone and 2 head abalone are top-grade and are hard to find. Among the many abalones, the Japanese net abalone has the least number of heads, followed by the Jipin, and the Hema abalone has the smallest size and the most heads.

3. People usually talk about how many heads of abalone are there. What does it mean? How much does 4 heads cost? How much does 5 heads cost?

How many pieces are there in one pound?

For example, if there are 16 in a pound, it means 16 heads, and if there are 32 in a pound, it means 32 heads.

Note: One jin is the same as one jin in Hong Kong, which means one jin is equal to sixteen liang.
