CATDOLL : CATDOLL: Can koi and tropical fish be raised together?

It is not suitable to be mixed with tropical fish for the following reasons:

1. Koi is very gentle in nature, and the water quality environment in which it lives. Koi can live in water temperatures of 2-30℃, and the most suitable water temperature for survival is 21-27℃. In this temperature, Koi's feeding ability is very strong. Koi likes to live in slightly alkaline water and water with low hardness. They prefer to swim in groups and have a strong ability to adapt to the environment.

2. Koi are large ornamental fish, with a relatively large body and a relatively long lifespan. Most importantly, they are gentle and kind, so when choosing fish to keep with them, you must choose fish with a relatively gentle temperament, otherwise the koi are very likely to be attacked and easily injured.

3. Koi also don't like to be frightened too much. When changing water or adjusting the water quality, the pH should not exceed the specified range. Koi can withstand a sudden change in water temperature of 2-3℃. The range of pH fluctuation that can be tolerated is less than 0.5.

Precautions for mixed breeding of koi

1. Choose fish that can survive at a temperature close to that of koi. However, be careful to avoid the situation where big fish eat small fish. When choosing fish to raise together with koi, the fish should not be too small.

2. When raising mixed fish, the food habits of the fish can be random, because koi are omnivorous.

3. Since koi have a very gentle temperament, when choosing fish for mixed breeding, you should not choose ones that are too ferocious. You should choose ones that can get along well with koi and have very little or no aggressiveness.
