CATDOLL: Introduction to Fish Bladder Glue

Fish bladder glue is a precious medicine used in traditional Chinese medicine. It is made from the swim bladder of sturgeon and beluga, and is used to treat kidney deficiency, spermatorrhea, and hematemesis. However, due to limited resources, fish bladder glue or fish bladder glue beads are mainly processed from the swim bladders of yellow croaker, yellow croaker, small yellow croaker, [fish rabbit] fish, cod, sea eel, freshwater carp, catfish, etc. for medicinal use. Due to the different sources of collagen, its amino acid composition is also different. Generally, gelatin from aquatic animals and other mammals is roughly similar, with glycine accounting for about 1/3, alanine accounting for about 1/9, and proline and hydroxyproline accounting for about 2/9. These four amino acids account for about 67% of the total amino acids, followed by glutamic acid, arginine, aspartic acid, and serine, which account for about 20% of the total amino acids. The content of others such as histidine, methionine, and tyrosine is extremely low [23]. Collagen fibers are interwoven into a mesh. The galactose connected to the δ-hydroxyl group of some hydroxylysine in the collagen peptide chain is of great significance in the process of hemostasis. Once the body is injured and bleeding occurs, platelets adhere to the surface of collagen and further accumulate to achieve coagulation. Therefore, fish bladder glue has a good effect on bleeding diseases such as gastric ulcer, tuberculosis and metrorrhagia in women, in addition to being a tonic. In addition, the collagen of fish skin is easy to hydrolyze and extract to make glue, such as puffer fish skin glue, conger eel skin glue, horse-faced fish skin glue and shark skin glue, which also have a hemostatic effect and can be made into a hemostatic sponge. The precious shark fin is the shark fin, and its elastic collagen can be made into shark fin glue, which has been used as a good tonic. The collagen of fish scales is also easy to hydrolyze to make fish scale glue. In addition, it contains fish scale hard protein, which needs to be boiled and dissolved with dilute acid or vinegar. Fish scale glue can treat metrorrhagia in women and has a certain effect on purpura, epistaxis, and gingival bleeding. Moreover, fish scales contain more egg scale fat, which can delay cell aging after mixing with water.
