What are the spines on the back of turtles?

The turtle is sick. If there are thorns on the back of the turtle, it is sick. If there are hairs on the body of the turtle, it is Saprolegniasis. The pathogens are water-borne fungi such as Saprolegnia and Corythuja. The turtle refers to the turtle. The turtle (scientific name: Pelodiscus sinensis) is an animal of the family Trionyx and the genus Trionyx. The dorsal disc of an adult is 192.0-345.0 mm long and 138.8-256.0 mm wide. The head is medium-sized and thin at the front.

What should I do if the small turtle grows hair and refuses to eat feed?

Animals such as turtles are very sensitive to fishy smells and love them very much. Feeding small soft-shelled turtles with fishy food can stimulate their appetite.

Feed is artificially synthesized from various foods, and has a poor taste and smell, which is not easy to appetize. In the early spring, animals such as turtles and tortoises recover from hibernation and have a poor appetite. If you feed turtle feed, they may not eat it.

Turtle life habits

1. Turtles are cold-blooded animals, amphibious, and breathe with lungs. They like to live in rivers, lakes, and ponds. They often float to the surface of the water, stretch out their snouts to breathe, and often bask in the sun on land. Turtles are very sensitive to changes in external temperature, and their living patterns are closely related to changes in external temperature. When the temperature is 10-12℃, turtles hibernate. The hibernation period of turtles in the Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou area is from mid-November to mid-April of the following year. When the water temperature rises to about 15℃ in spring, they gradually wake up from hibernation and start to eat. When the temperature is above 20℃, male and female turtles mate and lay eggs. Turtles have the habit of protecting their eggs. After laying eggs, they will guard them in the water not far from the spawning ground to prevent them from being harmed by natural enemies. 25-30℃ is the most suitable temperature range for turtles to eat and grow, and it is also the best season for artificial breeding. When the temperature exceeds 33℃, they will find a cave to "escape the heat". In artificial breeding, because turtles are aggressive by nature, large and small turtles should not be raised together.

2. Bullying is common among groups, and cannibalism occurs when food is scarce.

3. The living habits of turtles can be summarized as "three likes and three fears", that is, they like quietness and fear being startled, they like the sun and fear the wind, and they like cleanliness and fear dirt. Turtles react sensitively to the sounds of the surrounding environment. As long as there is a slight movement around them, turtles will quickly dive into the mud at the bottom of the water.

4. In the natural environment, soft-shelled turtles like to live in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, ponds and other waters with clear water quality. They often lie on the sunny shore to bask in the sun (commonly known as basking) during calm days, using the ultraviolet rays in the sun to kill pathogenic bacteria on the body surface, promote the healing of injured body surfaces, and increase body temperature by basking to promote food digestion. They are alert by nature. If they are slightly disturbed, they will quickly dive into the water and stay motionless. They also have the ability to judge the escape route.
