There are many problems in raising silkworms in September, because the weather gradually changes from hot to cool, and the temperature of the silkworm room needs to be adjusted regularly. Not only the silkworms, but also the mulberry leaves need to ensure quality. The water evaporates faster in a dry environment. How to store them has become the top priority in raising silkworms, especially the leaves for young silkworms. The leaves for young silkworms are tender and thin. How to store them to keep them fresh to the greatest extent? I think the sand storage method, the tank storage method or the bag storage method can be used for storage. Sand storage method: Sand storage method is related to sand. It is a better way for young silkworms in the early stage. It improves the dry environment by increasing humidity. The specific method is to make a rectangular pool with a height of about 30 cm. As for how big it should be, it depends on the amount of silkworms. Then put plastic film in its internal space (including the edge, the bottom of the pool, etc.), spread about 30 cm of sand on it, cover it with a clean cloth, and then fill it with water to use it as a mulberry storage container. Cylinder storage method: Cylinder storage method naturally uses a cylinder. In fact, the principle is similar to the sand storage method, which makes the mulberry leaves fresher. First, prepare the cylinder, add water into it, put a bamboo mat 6 cm away from the water, and put an air cage vertically in the middle. Then, when storing mulberry leaves, stack them neatly around the air cage. The neater the stacking, the more you can put. Finally, cover the mouth of the cylinder with a wet towel. This not only keeps the leaves fresh, but also ensures the cleanliness of the leaves. Bag storage method: Bag storage method is very simple and is currently used more frequently because it is easy to operate and requires few equipment. Before putting mulberry leaves into the bag, the bag should be thoroughly cleaned and preferably disinfected before use to prevent the mulberry leaves from being contaminated by the previous mixing. The amount put into the bag should not exceed half, as more than half will easily lead to accumulation and damage to the leaf surface of the mulberry leaves. Another point to note is that the bag filled with mulberry leaves needs to be placed in a cool, disinfected and backlit place, and the temperature and humidity of the storage room should be adjusted from time to time. The above is my sharing, for reference only. Raising silkworms is not easy, and every detail must be paid attention to. It can be stored in a relatively dry place, or in a cellar, or in some sealed fresh-keeping boxes. Cylinder storage method. Suitable for 1st and 2nd instars with less leaves. Use a clean water cylinder, first put clean water at the bottom of the cylinder, put a layer of bamboo mat about 5 cm from the water surface, put an air cage vertically in the center, shake the mulberry leaves loose and place them around the air cage. It is best to fold the mulberry leaves in advance, with the petioles facing down, and place them on the bamboo mat along the cylinder plate. This way, the storage time is long, the quantity is large, and the mulberry leaves are fresh and not easy to heat up. Then cover the cylinder mouth with a wet cloth to maintain a high humidity in the cylinder. The clean water in the cylinder should be changed every day. Sand storage method. Also known as the live leaf storage method, suitable for 1st and 2nd instars with less leaves. First, use cracked bricks to pile up a 20-30 cm high rectangular pool in the mulberry storage room. The area size can be determined according to the amount of silkworm seeds and the amount of silkworms to be raised. In fact, you can dry these leaves, store them in a vacuum, or seal them in the refrigerator. They should be able to maintain a certain degree of freshness. |
