Razor clam farming is very widespread. What are the taboos in razor clam farming?

1) Choose a good breeding site. For external coating breeding, it is best to choose a place below the tidal zone to the low valley area with 2-3 hours of exposure every day; the bottom of the shrimp and clam pond must be cleaned of black mud, and the bottom mud should be a mixture of soft mud and mud residue.

2) Construction of standard model razor clam fields. Whether it is cooked or raw, external coating aquaculture needs to be turned over, raked, and leveled before it can be free-range. An entire razor clam field can be divided into small ridges 3-7 meters wide, with small ditches in the middle of the ridges. The ridge surface is in the shape of a large road and no water is stored. The ridge construction of shrimp and clam ponds can refer to the external coating, and the total area should be controlled at 1/3 of the area. The pond must be "fermented" before the clam seedlings are free-range.

3) Carefully select and transport clam seedlings. The selection of clam seedlings must be done well, and do not mention clam seedlings that have been soaked in water or overnight, otherwise the survival rate will be low.

4) Planting in moderation and with reasonable density. Early sowing is recommended during the appropriate planting season, usually before the Qingming Festival. Seeding should be carried out during the high tide season. For one mu of land for external pond farming, 70 kg of 1 cm long clam seedlings can be sown, and for one mu of land for internal pond farming, 60-80 kg can be sown. It does not need to be too dense. Before planting, if it rains or there is a lot of water, 10 kg of raw salt can be sprinkled per mu to facilitate the clam seedlings to drill holes.

5) Strengthen the management of the coating. Razor clam farming takes 6-7 months from free-range to 15-16 months. Strengthening the management of the coating is the main measure to maintain high yields. In the early stage of free-range farming, the survival rate of the clam seedlings should be checked, and the seedlings should be replenished in time. After strong winds and waves, the coating surface should be leveled in time. In summer, the seedlings should be weeded in time to make the coating surface loose; after the tide recedes in summer, water accumulation should be avoided to prevent the clams from being scalded to death. During the breeding season, strong typhoons and heavy rains before and after the Cold Dew should be avoided, and fish pests and diseases should be driven away in time. After entering the cold season, the clams should be covered in time. When raising clams in groups, pay attention to the amount of shrimp bait to prevent grass shrimp from eating clams due to insufficient fish bait, resulting in limited production. After the grass shrimp are caught, fertilizer and bait can be added to ensure the normal life of the clams.

6) Harvest appropriately and return the clams to the pond. The harvesting period for clams is from July to August or around the Spring Festival to the Qingming Festival. The harvesting of clams must be thorough, and try not to leave old or dead clams, otherwise it will cause accumulation at the bottom, affecting production and the breeding of the next year.

Do not raise clams in water with poor air permeability. Seawater or pollution will cause a large number of clams to die. You need to choose excellent varieties for breeding and choose to breed clams in a relatively humid environment. Prepare mud and sand for the clams, strengthen the management of clam fields, and disinfect them in time.

It is important to choose a suitable breeding site. Clams like quiet places. Pay attention to dealing with the black mud in the pond. Select the seedlings carefully. Do not soak the seedlings in fresh water before use, as the mortality rate will increase. It is best to finish sowing before the Qingming Festival. Be careful not to sow too densely.
