Why do cats always like to bite people's feet?

1. Cats hunting

Although domestic cats have now been domesticated as pet cats, their nature as carnivores cannot be changed, and it is normal for them to hunt.

Pet cats are kept at home and are generally not taken out, so they naturally do not encounter prey such as mice and birds. At this time, your feet will be regarded as moving "prey" by them. The movement of your feet stimulates the hunting instinct of kittens who have not yet been trained, so they will come forward to bite your feet.

Generally, cats will start to learn and practice hunting skills during the weaning process. Cats are at their peak when they are 2-5 months old. Their activities are mainly about biting and chasing with their friends.

If your cat is adopted at this stage and has not yet been trained to hunt, and there are no other friends at home to practice playing with it, it can only focus on your moving feet.

2. Game Illusion

When a cat bites your feet, it may be teasing you, just like when you tease it with a cat teaser, it may treat your feet as its toy.

When it treats your feet as toys, it will be very happy, and over time it will develop a habit of biting your feet. If a cat bites your feet when it is young and you don't pay much attention to it, it will form this habit, and it is very likely to bite you when it grows up, so once you find a cat biting your feet, you must stop it and don't let it form a habit.

3. Want to get your attention

There are many ways that cats want to get your attention, such as rubbing against you, following you, and biting your ankle may also be a way for them to get your attention.

Cats who like each other will often groom each other by licking or nibbling on each other's fur, so cats will also use this method when they like you.
