Cats that cry like babies at night may be in heat. When cats are in heat, they often howl in the middle of the night. Male cats will also urinate everywhere to attract female cats for mating. This is an animal's instinctive need and behavior. When a cat howls in the middle of the night, the owner can gently stroke its head to calm its emotions in time, feed it some snacks to divert its attention, and temporarily calm it down.
