CATDOLL: How to maintain water quality for tropical fish How to maintain water quality for tropical fish

1. Water confinement. Tropical fish need to be water-confined first. The method of water confinement is very simple. Just connect the water and put it in a sunny place to dry it for a few days. Usually it takes one day in summer, two days in spring and autumn, and three days in winter. The reason for water confinement is that the water contains chlorine, which needs to be removed in this way.

2. Filter. In order to ensure the cleanliness of the water, it is best to filter the water several times. After injecting water into the fish tank, turn on the filter and filter it continuously for several hours to ensure that the impurities in the water are filtered out. Such water is more suitable for the growth of fish. If it is not filtered, the water may become turbid and affect the viewing.

3. Heating: There are certain requirements for the water temperature of tropical fish, which should be kept above 20℃. If the water is too cold, it will affect the vitality and appetite of the fish. Generally, there will be a heating rod in the fish tank, which will heat up quickly after turning it on. However, if you have fish, the daily temperature change should not exceed 2℃.

4. Bacteria cultivation: Cleanliness is only one aspect, and more importantly, the cultivation of beneficial bacteria, usually nitrifying bacteria, can convert ammonia nitrogen into nitrates, thus preventing fish from being poisoned, and is an indispensable part of the ecological cycle. Bacteria cultivation requires the addition of nitrifying bacteria every week, turning off the lights, and adding oxygen to the water to promote its reproduction.
