Can corn stalks be used to raise earthworms?

Yes, but the straw must be fermented into feed first so that the earthworms can replenish the nutrients rich in the straw.

[Main ingredients] It is a compound of various beneficial microbial flora such as lactic acid bacteria, yeast, bacillus, photobacteria, filamentous fungi, actinomycetes and their metabolites (digestive enzymes, proteases, amylases, cellulases, amino acids, vitamins, etc.). Total number of live bacteria: ≥20 billion/g.

[Product Properties] This product is a solid powder with a sweet and sour taste and a light wine aroma.

[Scope of application] 1: It can be used to ferment various dregs of feed such as straw, sewage, bean dregs, bran, distiller's grains, scraps, animal offal, etc.

2: It can be used for drinking water for livestock and poultry. The bacterial solution should be diluted 1:300-500 times with water before drinking. Sick and weak animals can be fed with 1-2 ml of the original solution per kilogram of body weight.

[Storage] Sealed in a cool and dry place at room temperature.

Characteristics of green fodder fermented with Nongshengle straw fermentation agent

3: High cost performance = ferment 2-3 tons of green fodder

4. Easy to operate

5: Long storage time = sealed and can be stored for one year

6: Good absorption = good for gastrointestinal digestion

Problems with straw-based earthworm farming!

Since the 1940s, earthworms, as a unique biological resource, have attracted widespread attention from all walks of life. Many countries, such as the United States, Japan, Canada, Germany, France, New Zealand, India, the Philippines and my country, have successively carried out research on artificial breeding of earthworms. At present, it has developed into factory breeding and commercial production, and breeding earthworms has become a new breeding business with a bright future.

The main uses of earthworm farming are: first, to purify the environment, increase fertilizer and improve soil; second, as a new protein resource, to make feed additives or as a high-protein food for humans; third, as a raw material for medicines and cosmetics; fourth, using the special function of earthworm manure, as a heavy metal pollution detection animal or deodorant adsorbent, etc. my country has conducted extensive research on the application of earthworms in industry, agriculture, environmental protection, animal husbandry, light chemical industry and trendy food, and has achieved many new results in the deep processing and comprehensive utilization of earthworms.

Due to the high multiple cropping index of cultivated land and the tight crop rotation in my country, a large amount of straw needs to be dealt with urgently after the crops are harvested. The cost of mechanized field return is high, and some straw cannot be decomposed in the season, which will become the host of pests and diseases, causing harm to the next crop; the cost of biological decomposition is also high, and the operation is troublesome, which is not suitable for large-scale popularization and promotion. Therefore, every harvest season, straw burning occurs repeatedly, resulting in a large waste of organic fertilizer resources and serious environmental pollution. In recent years, Handan, Hebei Province has successfully cultivated straw earthworms, which can swallow a large amount of straw, turning waste into treasure, and greatly alleviating environmental pollution.

The characteristics of straw earthworms are: large appetite, fast growth, and high reproduction rate. Every 10 kg of earthworm seeds can consume 6670 square meters (10 mu) of straw per year, producing 1000-1200 kg of commercial earthworms and 4-5 tons of earthworm manure. Raising straw earthworms is simple, low-cost, and labor-intensive, and farmers are easy to accept. There is no need to mechanically crush the straw. Just pile up the straw, sprinkle water on it, maintain a certain humidity, and release the earthworms. As long as the straw is piled in a sunny and windproof place and appropriate covering measures are taken, straw earthworms can reproduce normally in winter.

Breeding earthworms on straw is a project that requires little investment, has high benefits, is simple to operate, requires little labor, and is risk-free. For raising earthworms on straw, you only need to pay 120 yuan for earthworm seedlings for every 667 square meters of straw, and the output value of commercial earthworms alone is as much as a thousand yuan. If managed well, 2 to 3 tons or more of commercial earthworms can be produced per 333 square meters of breeding area per year, with an annual profit of 8,000 to 12,000 yuan. In addition, after the earthworms eat the straw, the earthworm manure particles they excrete are uniform in size, odorless, and are excellent organic fertilizers. In summary, breeding earthworms on straw is a sideline project with a short cycle, high benefits, and strong operability.
