Reposted from Know Answer 1. Start from the season. In the spring, during the swarming season, choose a dry and rain-proof place with no obstacles nearby and an open, sunny place in front of you. In summer, it should face the wind, and in winter, it should be sheltered from the wind. 2. From the geographical location, follow the edge of the forest, and search for large trees with hollow holes in them. Look carefully and choose places with more stones, big old trees, bumpy embankments, the edge of walls, and abandoned houses. 3. Observe and track water-treading, honey-treading worker bees, water bees within a range of 500 meters, honey bees within 3 kilometers, and the number of circles is 1 kilometer for 1 circle, 2 circles for 2 kilometers, and 3 circles for 3 kilometers, plus the flying direction of the worker bees. Most water-collecting bees are old bees, and their flight routes will not be very far. When entering the mountains to look for bees, pay attention to the edge of the water source. If you find water-collecting bees, it means there is a beehive nearby. Water-collecting bees fly in circles when they descend and take off. If the circle is counterclockwise when flying in, and clockwise when returning, it means that the beehive is on the left side of the mountain; if the circle is in the opposite direction to the above, it means that the beehive is on the right side of the mountain. 4. When worker bees fly to their nests or to refresh themselves, they often excrete a lot of feces near the hive. When collecting bees fly out of the nest, they often excrete feces before flying to collect. Therefore, there must be a lot of bee feces on the leaves and weeds around the hive. Bee feces are yellow, with one end large and the other small. Usually the large end always faces the direction of the hive, so you should look for it in this direction. If you find that the bee feces are gradually becoming dense, then there must be a beehive nearby within about 3/400 meters. 5. Listen to the sounds and watch the flying direction of the worker bees in the sky to judge how far away the worker bees are, generally about 500 meters. These sounds and flight directions may have obstacles on both sides, so it is easier to hear and see them if you stand in the middle. 6. Choose the right time. During the swarming season, bees are diligent and work hard. In autumn, when it is dry and rainless, it is easy to see the feces. Around 2 pm in spring and around 3 pm in autumn, new bees will test-fly. The first sunny day after the rain. 7. Find a nectar and pollen source base, where the homing bees fly slowly, make muddy sounds, have drooping tails or carry pollen balls on their legs, and move in a straight line. The latter is our target. 8. It is worth recommending the method of finding the hive based on the test flight of young bees. In clear weather, at 2-3 pm every day, young bees will leave the nest and test fly in front of the nest for about half an hour. This flight is chaotic and disorderly, and the sound is loud and noisy. If you hear this sound and go looking for it, you can find the hive. 9. Use the method of tracking worker bees along the way to find the hive. There are many ways to do this. ① Tracking bees: On a sunny day, between 9am and 11am, observe the flight path of the returning bees at the valley exit, or the movements of the collecting bees on the flowers. If several returning bees fly in the same direction, you can track them in that direction, moving forward 30 to 50m at a time, and eventually you may find the hive. ②Hang honey and burn combs to attract bees and track them. In the upwind area of high ground, dip a branch with leaves in honey and hang it 2 meters above the ground, and burn some old combs to emit the smell of honey and wax to attract wild bees. Then pay attention to the flight path of wild bees that have been full of honey. At the same time, on another high ground several dozen steps away, use the same method to attract and observe the flight path of bees. The direction where these two flight paths intersect is often the location of the beehive. ③ The method of tracking by boiling honey to attract bees: On a sunny and warm day, set up a stove and light a fire on a high hill in the mountains, put high-concentration honey in the pot and boil it until it boils, and use the aroma of honey to attract wild Chinese bees to collect it. Follow the flight path of the bees back and find the hive. If you lose the trace during the tracking process, boil honey near the flight path of the bees to attract the bees. Repeat the positioning and searching several times, and you can accurately find the hive of wild bees. ④ Playing hard to get tracking method Catch the forage bee that is about to return to the nest, tie a 300-400 mm long thin line around the bee's waist, stick a piece of paper 10 mm wide and several centimeters long on the other end, and then release it to track. Usually, after repeating several times, you can find the beehive. ⑤ Determine the distance to the hive based on the circles and flight altitude of the returning bees. After the bees have collected pollen and honey, they often make 1 to 3 circles when taking off, and then fly straight to the hive at a certain height. Determine the distance of the hive based on the number of circles and the flight altitude of the returning bees. If they only make one circle when taking off, the hive will not be very far away; if they make three circles, the hive is more than 2.5 km away and it is difficult to track. If the returning bees fly at an altitude of about 3 meters above the ground, it means that the hive is about 250 meters away; if the flight altitude is above 6 meters, it means that the hive is far away and cannot be tracked blindly. 10. In addition, you can learn about the traces of wild bees from herbal farmers, hunters and other people who often live in the mountains, which can provide clues for hunting. 2. Attract wild bees 1. Temporary inducement, short term Beekeepers will go find wild bees and use a temporary luring method to lure the bees directly into your beehive on the same day. Putting an appropriate amount of honey or sugar feed in the attracting box, finding a place where scout bees often appear, and burning old honeycombs near the attracting box at around 10 am will help attract bees. If you find scout bees that often fly and stop on walls and other places to find nests, you can place an attracting box nearby and apply a little honey on the nest opening of the attracting box to attract the scout bees; or you can capture the scout bees and put them in the attracting box and close it for 10 minutes, and then release the scout bees. Be careful not to damage the scout bees. The location of the attracting box must not be changed after the scout bees fly away. Generally, when there is a swarm, it can be successful in one day. (ii) Fixed-point induction, long-term 1. To attract wild bees in summer, you should choose a cool and ventilated place, and in winter, you should choose a place that is sheltered from the wind and facing the sun. Under the rock on the mountainside facing north and south, it is not exposed to the sun and rain, and it is warm in winter and cool in summer. It is the most ideal place for attracting bees. It is suitable to place boxes for attracting bees in all seasons. In addition, in front of the eaves facing south or southeast, under a big tree, etc. are also good places. According to the migration rules of bees, the bee attracting site is set up on the mountain in spring and summer, and at the foot of the mountain in autumn and winter. 2. The location where the lure box is placed must be conspicuous so that it can be easily discovered by scout bees. In addition, the bees' flight route should be unobstructed, such as protruding hills, single trees, huge rocks, etc. in the mountains, which are all natural and obvious targets for bees to build nests. 3. The attractant box should be dark, dry, clean, and free of wood or other special smells. (1) Box with scars: Box with scars on the base of honeycombs. Boxes with newly built honeycombs are particularly ideal after the bees have settled there for 1-2 days. A few small holes can be left at the nest entrance. The lower opening of a common beehive is about 30 cm in diameter. Several finger-sized notches are made on the edge of the opening as the nest entrance. Several bamboo strips are strung vertically and horizontally about 20 cm from the opening, and palm bark is laid on the bamboo strips. Straw or wheat straw is then stuffed on the palm bark, and then placed on a stone. The upper opening of the barrel is sealed with palm bark and covered with bark stones. (2) New beehives: In order to allow the lured wild bees to be raised in a new way, new beehives can be used. First, arrange 4-5 nest frames with iron wire and narrow strips of nest foundation in the box. It is not advisable to use full-frame nest foundations. The space outside the partition should be filled with soft grass. If the nest foundation is built into spleen buds by the bee colony, the effect will be better. The nest door of the new beehive is only 3.3 cm wide and 1.1 cm high. Before placing it, nail the nest frame and the inner cover. It is best to place the beehive on rocks, raise the box body, stack stones on the left and right for protection, cover the box surface, and press stones to prevent damage from wind, rain, and yellowing. (3) Regular inspection. Check the hive regularly after placing it for luring. During the swarming season, check once every three days. Check promptly after a long rainy season. If you find wild bees in the hive, wait until the bees return to the nest in the evening, close the nest door and move them back. For old hives and tubes, it is best to borrow combs from them that night. 4. Cleverly lure wild bees Recipe: 250 grams of white sugar, 10 grams of fresh honey. How to use: Mix the medicine according to the formula ratio, stir evenly, sprinkle it on the grass and put it into a beehive, then put the beehive on the top of a mountain in the wild. After about 5 days, bees from seven or eight miles around will fly to the beehive and gather in the beehive. 3. Bee Catching Methods (1) Tree holes and earth holes: Seal the hole first to prevent bees from rushing out and stinging people, then chisel the tree hole or dig the earth hole. After the honeycomb is exposed, immediately fumigate the bees, drive the bees away from the honeycomb from bottom to top and from left to right, and then cut the honeycomb and put it in the frame, and then put the beehive into the hive. After the honeycomb is cut, the bees are full and not easy to sting. You can use your hands to hold the bee clumps and put them into the hive. After most of the bee clumps are moved in, because the bees will not leave the clump, you can disperse the remaining bees in the hole, and move the nest door close to the original nest entrance. The bees will automatically flock to the hive. If the queen bee is not found during the operation, carefully check the hole and the surrounding area. (2) Caves: For wild bees living in caves, if it is difficult to dig a cave, you can use a clever trick: keep one main entrance and exit, and seal the rest with mud. Then, use cotton wool dipped in carbolic acid to stuff it into the lower part of the hive. Insert a glass tube into the hole, and the tube mouth leads to the transport hive. Driven by the smell of carbolic acid, the bees will pass through the glass tube and enter the transport hive. When the queen bee in the tube passes through and the bees in the cave are basically gone, they can be moved back for processing. (3) Collecting bee swarms: After flying out, the swarms first gather on branches, corners of houses, etc., and stay there for a short time. This is when they are easiest to capture. The method of collecting and capturing is as follows: first spray water on the swarms to quiet them down, then place a bee collecting cage above the swarms, and use your hands or a soft broom to gently drive them from below. Taking advantage of the upward tendency of the bees, the swarms will quickly enter the bee collecting cage and then be mixed into the beehive. If the branches where the swarms are located are not large, they can be directly shaken off into a gauze bag and taken back to the hive. If a swarm is found passing through, water or sand can be used to hit them. The bees will fall and form a group when they are blocked, and then they can be captured. In professional terms, it is to lure bees. Beekeepers now have sufficient experience in luring bees. They make simple beehives to make lure beehives. Lure beehives must be processed. Bees like the taste of beeswax, which is the product of beehive boiling. All lure beehives are soaked in beeswax water and coated with beeswax to attract bees to settle down. In addition, you must be in the mountainous area, where there are more wild bee resources. Or pollen can also be used. After stinging a person, it will leave a special chemical substance on the human body. Other bees can track the stung person based on the smell of this chemical substance, so this chemical substance can be used to absorb |
