CATDOLL: Is it safe to raise snails now? (Is it safe to raise snails now? Can you still raise them?)

1. Are the small snails crawling on the wall on rainy days poisonous?

After the rain, the snails running outside are slightly toxic. They are mainly high in bacteria and parasites. Such snails cannot be kept.

The same type of snail uses citrus trees as hosts. The leaves of citrus fruits are often eaten into notches by it, and the bark of branches is also often eaten, forming pits in the citrus fruits after eating.

Its host plants include forest seedlings, vegetables and flowers. Snails can cause damage to soybean seedlings, which can cause damage to leaves and stems, delayed germination of seedlings and reduced seedling success rate. In severe cases, snails can eat up all the seedlings, resulting in sterile fields. Comprehensive measures should be taken to prevent and control snails in soybean fields.

2. What are the dangers of raising white jade snails?

1. Too few species are introduced

Some breeding units charge too high a price for breeding, so breeders can only introduce dozens or more than 100. However, the white jade snail is hermaphroditic and can mate with different sexes. If the number of snails raised together is small, they cannot fully mate and fertilize, which affects reproduction and limits production.

White Jade Snail:

2. Impure seeds

Some farmers bring back ordinary commercial snails, which are small and immature in sexual development and do not lay eggs, or old snails do not lay eggs, which greatly affects the farmers' enthusiasm for breeding. Therefore, when choosing snails, you must pay attention to the weight of each snail must be above 45g, have growth lines and tender edges, and lay eggs about half a month after introduction.

3. Indoor insulation is not up to standard

No matter which season you introduce the species, you must go through the winter insulation stage. Many breeders fail in insulation. There are four situations: ① The insulation conditions are not met. The temperature of the snail breeding room should be maintained at 23℃-28℃, and the temperature difference between day and night should not exceed 8℃; ② The temperature and humidity in the insulation room are not coordinated, and the snails cannot adapt and get sick; ③ The insulation fuel leaks, causing the snails to be poisoned and die; ④ The insulation room is too high and not ventilated, and the snails die of suffocation due to lack of oxygen.

3. Are the snails caught in the creek poisonous?

No. Everyone is familiar with snails. They carry a shell on their backs, crawl very slowly, and like to stay on green plants. They also secrete some mucus, which is beneficial to the movement of snails and the skin-assisted breathing. Some snails are poisonous, and some are not. In general, snails are very weak and do not cause direct harm to the human body, so they can be raised. However, in extreme cases, snails may carry some viruses, and there will be risks after contact. As long as they are raised in the correct way, snails will not cause any trouble to their owners.

4. Are there parasites in dried snail shells?

have

Snails are molluscs, and all animals have parasites. Snails are no exception, but they are parasitic in the body and will not threaten human health, so don't be afraid. However, you should still pay attention to the fact that the liquid left by them when crawling is slightly toxic. Especially wild ones, you don't know how many places they have crawled, and they are easy to bring germs. Therefore, even if the parasites do not threaten health, it is not recommended to breed them.

5. Can wild snails be raised?

Wild snails can be raised, but they usually have parasites, so be careful to prevent them from being infected when raising them.

2. How to raise snails

(1) Snails have a small range of activity, so the equipment used to raise snails should not be too large. It is recommended to use a small fish tank of about ten centimeters for breeding.

(2) You can feed the snails some fruit and vegetable leaves, such as cabbage leaves. Just rinse the leaves and feed them.

(3) Spread a layer of cornmeal on the bottom of the breeding container, and then use a spray bottle to moisten it every day. Please note that you should not add water to the bottom of the container, otherwise it will easily breed bacteria and cause the snails to become sick.

(4) When closing the lid, leave some space. You can punch a few holes on it to allow air to circulate. Snails like to stay in places with smooth air circulation.

(5) The suitable temperature for snail breeding is 16-30℃. Snails hate light, but like free air and free space for activities, so try to choose a dark and ventilated place for breeding.

6. I want to raise the snails I picked up on campus, but my father won’t let me. He said they may have parasites. Is it okay to raise wild snails?

It is recommended not to keep it.

Snails do have parasites, but they are internal parasites and are not likely to pose a threat. However, the mucus left by the snail as it crawls is slightly toxic. Moreover, they are wild snails and you don't know where they have crawled. Even if the parasites are not a threat, they will still have pathogens. It is recommended not to raise them. If you need to, you can ask your parents and buy regular farmed snails online.

7. Is it dangerous to raise snails at home?

There is nothing dangerous about raising snails, but there are risks. As long as the snails don't get sick, you can make money.

8. Is snail farming reliable?

Snail farming is unreliable, the market is small, the farming costs are high, and the technology is not mature yet.
