CATDOLL: How to farm shrimp?

1. Selection of shrimp farming sites

The pond construction site is required to have sufficient water, good water quality, solid soil, and convenient water inlet and outlet. The specific requirements are as follows:

1. Site selection. Basically the same as the requirements for fish ponds or using the original freshwater simulated fish pond for breeding.

2. Shrimp pond area: 2 to 10 mu, with a water depth of 1.2 to 1.5 meters, preferably rectangular, with a slope of 1:2 to 1:2.5, and a slightly sloping bottom to facilitate drainage.

3. Drainage system. The shrimp pond should have independent water inlet and outlet channels for shrimp farming.

2. Preparations before stocking shrimp

1. Clean the pond. For newly developed shrimp ponds, water can be added after 2-3 days of exposure. For old ponds, it is necessary to clear the stasis and expose them to the sun for a winter, and strictly clean and disinfect the pond. About 15 days before stocking, strictly disinfect the pond with drugs (quicklime, bleaching powder).

2. Cultivate basic bait. 7 to 10 days before stocking, fill the shrimp pond with 50 cm of water and then apply fertilizer to cultivate basic biological bait in the shrimp pond. Fertilizer types include organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer.

3. Stocking of shrimp seedlings

Shrimp seedling desalination: The success of shrimp desalination farming depends on the desalination of shrimp seedlings. Seedling manufacturers should proceed step by step during the desalination process and it is strictly forbidden to desalinate suddenly. Shrimp seedlings must be desalinated to a salt content of 1.003 before they can be directly moved into fresh water for farming.

4. Management of shrimp farming

After the shrimp fry enter the pond, it is the daily management work. During the breeding period, in addition to strengthening production safety measures, the main work is water quality management, feeding management, disease prevention and control, etc.
