CATDOLL: Help, the turtle died suddenly

1. Help, the turtle died suddenly

It seems that the death was caused by skin rot.

I don't know if you are a large-scale farmer or an individual player.

If it is the latter, it is recommended that in the near future, you can release the turtle into water during the day, and then take it out at night to disinfect its body surface. After disinfection, keep it in a dry place for a period of time at night.

If you want to disinfect the body surface, you need to go to the pharmacy to buy the following items: hydrogen peroxide (about 2 yuan), iodine (about 2 yuan), erythromycin ointment (about 2 yuan), medical cotton swabs (about 5 cents), and then pick up all the turtles and wipe them dry. First disinfect with hydrogen peroxide, use cotton swabs to remove dirt, and wipe iodine after drying. For turtles with yellowing and rotten skin, use cotton swabs to apply a thin layer of erythromycin ointment on the lesion. Then isolate the turtle and dehydrate it (pay attention to replenishing water and maintaining the ambient temperature and humidity).

In addition, if the ambient temperature (recommended temperature is 23-28°C), hygiene and diet are good, the survival rate is generally very high. I have personally experienced this. I bought 20 winter grass seedlings in November and the survival rate was 95%.

2. Help: The newly bought baby turtle is timid and has been in the water all the time. Will it get sick easily?

It takes time to adapt to the water quality. If you find any abnormality, you should dry it out in time and expose it to more sunlight.

3. How deep is the water best for placing small grass turtle seedlings so that they will not be deformed?

But just carry it back.

Of course, deep water is fine. But you need a platform for him to rest, otherwise he will be tired and drown if he keeps swimming with no place to rest.

Give him a place to rest. It doesn't matter how deep the water is. Remember to make sure he can get out. Otherwise, he will drown.
