CATDOLL : If you step on a cat, will it hold a grudge?

If you accidentally step on a cat's foot and it screams, the cat will subconsciously run away. Do not force it to come out. Wait a few minutes and then lure it with food. After it comes out, be sure to check the part that was stepped on.

1. Don’t force it out

When a cat is stepped on, it usually runs away. The owner is usually very anxious and keeps calling the cat's name, but the cat runs away. You should understand that this is a normal behavior of cats when they are hurt. It is best to follow the cat's wishes. If the cat wants to hide, let it hide. Don't force it out, otherwise it will think that the owner wants to catch up with it and beat it.

2. Use food or toys to lure the cat out

The owner may worry that the cat will bear a grudge if he steps on it, but in fact, cats don't bear grudges. As long as you give it food or play with it with toys afterwards, it will quickly get close to you again.

Of course, when it comes to you, you must remember to touch its head and chin, and then speak a few words to it softly, so that the cat can sense your kindness.

3. Don’t forget to check where the cat was stepped on

After the cat shows up, be sure to check its feet. First, check if the area that was stepped on is swollen. Then, touch it gently to see if it has a big reaction (meowing or shrinking back to avoid being touched again). Finally, pay attention to whether the cat is limping.

If the cat has swelling and sprains, apply an ice pack to the area for 15 minutes twice a day. Also limit the cat's range of motion and don't let it run around. If the cat is seriously injured or doesn't get better after a day, I suggest you take it to the vet right away.
