As one of the “four major carps”, why has black carp fallen to the point where no one is breeding it?

Almost no one is breeding black carp, one of the four major carps, now because the risk of breeding black carp is too high. The high risk is reflected in its relatively long growth cycle and relatively small market demand. These two points determine that breeding this thing has too high risk and the profit margin is not large.

Black carp is one of the four major carps. It grows relatively slowly because it is a carnivorous fish. Most of the river fish we see in the market are basically non-carnivorous fish. Black carp cannot grow rapidly within three years because it is too small. It cannot swallow some large aquatic creatures, and it cannot even eat some small fish fry. Therefore, it grows very slowly. It will take three years before it will enter a stage of rapid growth. It basically takes 5 to 6 years to be put on the market. This time is obviously too long. For most people, the investment cycle is too long and the risk is too high.

The market demand is relatively small because whales are very special. Their size is relatively small during the first three years of operation. After three years, when their size develops to a size larger than the metal base, they can produce some large water-soluble organisms, and their growth will be faster. Then, when their size develops to a certain extent, they need to be put on the market. However, this fish is so heavy that a normal family would definitely not choose it for eating fish, because the heavier the fish, the higher the price, which is too much of an economic burden, and there is no need for an ordinary family to eat more than ten kilograms of fish. Therefore, ordinary families will not buy it. Most of them will go to those products such as making fishing rods, and the market demand for such products is limited.

The meat quality of black carp itself is still good, and it has strong adaptability to growth. As long as the water temperature in the southern waters meets its basic needs, it has almost no natural enemies in the water. Because after three years, its body size is relatively large and its attack power is relatively strong, so it can grow very large.

The main reason is that the cost of breeding black carp is very high and the cycle is very long. Not only can you not get back your investment in a short period of time, but you may even lose money. In fact, as one of the four major fish, black carp was also bred in the past. After all, black carp is large in size, tastes good, and looks good as a gift during festivals. However, the risk of breeding black carp is also very high. In today's society where capital flow is very tight, naturally no one is breeding black carp. After all, breeding other fish is also very profitable.

The first reason is that the growth cycle of black carp is very long, and farmers cannot get their money back in a short period of time. When breeding black carp, they may face financial constraints or even a broken capital chain. Grass carp, silver carp, and bighead carp are all relatively small in size and take a short time to grow. Breeding these fish can bring good returns in a short period of time. However, the size of early-season black carp is generally larger, and the weight of adult black carp is more than 20 to 30 kilograms, so the growth cycle is very long and the return on investment is very slow.

The second reason is that the cost of feeding black carp is very high, and the cost of breeding black carp is also very high. When breeding other kinds of fish, generally feeding some common feed can make the fish eat fatter and grow faster. However, black carp is also called snails, and its favorite food is snails. It is difficult to feed black carp strong with ordinary feed. Since the cost of snails is much higher than the cost of feed, breeding black carp is not a very profitable project.

The third reason is that the sales of black carp are not very good, and it can only have good sales in winter. Other types of fish are generally smaller in size, and ordinary people can eat them in one or two meals, so they can be bought home regardless of spring, summer, autumn or winter. However, since a black carp weighs 20 to 30 kilograms, it is difficult to store it when the temperature is low except in winter, and it is not easy to sell in spring, summer or autumn. Therefore, black carp has gradually fallen to the point where no one raises it.

The meat of black carp is firm and of excellent quality, so it sells for a relatively high price in the market. However, in recent years, the number of farmers willing to raise black carp has been decreasing.

Because it is difficult to raise black carp and the income is not very high, no one raises it anymore.

The breeding conditions of black carp are very harsh and the economic benefits are low. Black carp needs fresh water and fresh grass to be fed. Compared with other fish, its price is relatively low, so no one breeds it.

I want to raise fish in a flowing river. Which fish will bring the most profit? How should I raise fish? What is my investment budget?

You can block the two ends of the river with fishing nets, and the fishing nets should be 50 cm above the water surface. This can prevent the water surface from exceeding the fishing nets and letting the fish escape when the water rises. You can plant some ornamental plants such as lotus and water lily in the river. This will not only increase the ornamental value, but also provide food for the fish. You can breed crucian carp, black carp, grass carp, black carp, eel, loach, Huixiao and even soft-shelled turtle in the river. This will increase species diversity, maintain a good ecology, and be beneficial to the growth of fish. You can also organize fishing, lotus and water lily viewing to improve the competitiveness of tourism. Many people in our hometown do this.

30 kilometers, it's so long, which means it's hard to manage properly. This is not intensive breeding. It's free-range breeding. It's rough breeding, just put fish fry in the pond without feeding the fish. You can raise the four major carps and carp and crucian carp in freshwater. It can be used as a fishing ground for people to fish casually. Fishing grounds have been more profitable in recent years.
