CATDOLL: What is the connection between perch and cod?

1. Perch: What is the connection between cod, perch and cod?

It doesn't matter, they are all fish

2. What kind of fish is the river fish? Can it be eaten? I heard that it is also a dish in the Manchu-Han banquet

It is an ugly fish with a big head and a thin tail. Its blood and internal organs are poisonous. It is fine if you clean them. But be careful not to let the blood come into contact with the wounds on your hands. Also, it tastes very delicious. Although it is poisonous, many people still risk their lives to enjoy its delicious taste every year.

3. Are there perch in Shuangtaizi River in Panjin?

Weever, also known as flower perch, zhaihua, perch board, four-rib fish, etc., is commonly known as perch shark. It is one of the "four famous fishes" together with Yangtze River shad and Taihu whitebait. The meat of perch is white, tender, fragrant, and has no fishy smell. The meat is in the shape of garlic cloves. It is best steamed, braised or stewed. Perch is distributed in the western Pacific Ocean, the coastal areas of China and freshwater bodies connected to the sea. It is more common in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, especially in Panjin [Bohai] and the East China Sea. It is not found in the sea.

4. Are there sea bass in the Yichang section of the Yangtze River?

I don't know if there are perch in the Yichang section of the Yangtze River, but I'll share my personal opinion here.

A friend below said that bass only live in the sea, not in freshwater. This is wrong. There are many types of bass. The common largemouth bass on the market is freshwater bass. Even the sea bass, the seven-star bass, can survive in freshwater, so it can often be caught in rivers at the mouth of the sea.

Now we usually refer to freshwater bass, usually largemouth bass (also known as California black bass), which is native to freshwater lakes in America and was introduced to my country around the 1980s. Because of its delicious meat and the main target fish for lure fishing, it is now stocked in many reservoirs and a large number of them are artificially cultivated. Since this type of bass is very common in China, it is possible that it will flow into the Yangtze River. But even if this type of bass flows into the Yangtze River, the number is very small. If you want to fish for bass, you can assume that there is no bass in the Yangtze River.

There is another kind of perch, which is the one mentioned in the ancient poem "I only love the beauty of perch". This kind of perch is called "Songjiang perch", which also lives in shallow seas and freshwater that is connected to seawater. Songjiang perch generally grows and fattens in freshwater rivers that are connected to the sea. After sexual maturity, it descends into the river to spawn in the sea, and the young fish return to live in freshwater rivers. It reproduces from mid-February to mid-March. After reproduction, the female fish leaves, and the male fish stays in the nest to protect the eggs. The newly hatched fry is 5.3-6.3 mm long and reaches sexual maturity at 1 year old. It is distributed in the Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea and East China Sea, and is a precious edible fish. The Songjiang four-gilled perch is the most famous for the perch at Xiuye Bridge in Songjiang. Su Shi's "Post-Red Cliff Fu" has the words "big mouth and fine scales, like the perch in Songjiang". It is natural that the Wusong River originates from Taihu Lake and flows east into the sea, and is rich in perch. Wujiang, Suzhou is also a famous "bass town", as evidenced by Zhang Han's "Autumn Wind Song": "The autumn wind rises, it's a beautiful time. The water of Wujiang River is full of fat bass."

Songjiang perch is one of the four famous freshwater fishes in China. It is not limited to Songjiang. According to records, it was once widely distributed along the coast of China, but the one in Songjiang Prefecture was the most famous. It was named "the first famous fish in Jiangnan" by Emperor Qianlong. However, in the 1970s, this fish could no longer be found in the wild due to dam construction and environmental reasons. It was not until around 2010 that some artificially cultivated ones appeared on the market, and the price was as high as several hundred yuan per fish (about 20 cm long)...

So, I think it is very difficult to find sea bass in the Yangtze River.

5. What are the most famous fish in the country?

The most famous fish in China are the four famous fishes, namely Songjiang perch, Yellow River carp, Xingkai Lake bream and Songhua River mandarin fish. Songjiang perch and Songhua River mandarin fish generally grow in freshwater rivers, Yellow River carp grows in the Yellow River as its name suggests, and Xingkai Lake bream grows in Mishan, Heilongjiang.

my country is rich in water resources and has many kinds of fish, from the most common grass carp and bighead carp to local fish species.

Songjiang perch is a nearshore shallow-water fish that usually grows and fattens in freshwater rivers connected to the sea. After reaching sexual maturity, it descends to the river and into the sea to spawn, and the young fish return to live in freshwater rivers. It is distributed in the Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea and East China Sea, and is a valuable edible fish.

Yellow River carp is not only distributed in the Yellow River, but also in some places in the Haihe River. Nowadays, many people release carp into the Yellow River, but in fact, this is not strictly speaking the Yellow River carp. The meat of Yellow River carp is fresh and tender. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that "if you want to eat fish, you must eat carp from the river". It is definitely a fine fish.

The Xingkai Lake whitefish is swift and fierce, feeding on small fish, shrimps and insects, making it an ideal lure fish. The Xingkai Lake whitefish has always been a delicious dish at banquets and an ideal gift for relatives and friends. It is known as the top of the four famous freshwater fish in northern my country.

Heilongjiang, Songhuajiang and Mudanjiang are all rich in mandarin fish, especially the Aohua in Jingbo Lake. The water of the three rivers is cool, and the mandarin fish produced here are fine, white and exceptionally tender.
