CATDOLL: Salinity for Bream Farming

The salinity for raising sea bream is generally between 1.020-1.025. Sea bream is a marine fish that needs to adapt to a certain salinity environment in order to grow and reproduce. When raising sea bream, the salinity of the water needs to be controlled to meet the growth needs of the fish. Generally speaking, the higher the salinity, the higher the concentration of the body fluid of the sea bream, thereby increasing the salt tolerance of the fish. However, if the salinity is too high or too low, it will affect the health and growth of the sea bream. Therefore, it is recommended that when raising sea bream, the salinity needs to be controlled according to factors such as fish species, age and water temperature to ensure the growth and health of the fish.

The most suitable salinity for sea bream is 30‰~35‰. In the process of artificial breeding, if the salinity of water is too high or too low, it will have an adverse effect on the growth and health of sea bream. Generally speaking, the growth of sea bream is suitable for underwater salinity of 30‰~35‰. If the salinity is too high or too low, it will affect the feeding and growth of sea bream, and even cause other unadaptable conditions.

In order to make the sea bream grow well, farmers can use a salinity meter to regularly test and adjust the salinity in the breeding pond or breeding pond during the breeding process. When the salinity is not appropriate, salt can be increased or reduced appropriately to maintain the stability of water quality and the healthy growth of sea bream.
