CATDOLL: What temperature is required for the growth of 40-day-old ducklings?

1. What temperature is required for the growth of 40-day-old ducklings?

From the time the ducklings hatch, the first three days of brooding are at a high temperature of 34℃~35℃, which is conducive to the absorption of yolk and reduces the occurrence of white diarrhea in ducklings. After one week, the temperature drops by 2℃~3℃ every week, and drops to 21℃~24℃ in the fourth week. If the temperature does not drop or drops too slowly, it is not conducive to the growth of feathers. If the temperature drops too quickly, the ducklings will not adapt, their growth will slow down, and the death rate will increase.

(1) Temperature: Normally, the temperature of ducks should be controlled at 35°C when they are 1-3 days old, 32°C when they are 4-7 days old, 30°C when they are 8-14 days old, 28°C when they are 15-21 days old, and 25°C when they are 22-28 days old.

(2) Humidity: When ducks are 1-10 days old, the relative humidity is 70%, when they are 8-14 days old, it is 65%, and when they are 15-28 days old, it is 60%.

(3) Lighting: Generally, ducks aged 1-10 days need 24 hours of light. When the ducks are 11 days old, they can use natural light during the day and no longer need to use separate lights at night.

(4) Drinking water: Ducks aged 1-10 days need to be fed water 8 times a day, while ducks aged 11-28 days need to be fed water 6 times a day.

(5) Feed: Generally, 10% barley, 20% soybean cake, 50% corn, 5% bran, 8% fish meal, 1.7% bone meal, 5% rice bran, and 0.3% salt are mixed into feed and then fed to ducks.

2. Broilers are spray-immunized at one day old. At how many days old should they be immunized again?

Administer Newcastle disease vaccine again at 7 days of age.

Vaccine program for broiler chickens:

1 day old: Marek's vaccine, mycoplasma

7 days old: Newcastle disease

10-14 days old: bursa/bronchial

23~28 days old: Newcastle disease/infectious bronchiolitis

Marketed at 42-45 days old

3. What are the differences between Muscovy ducklings and Mallard ducklings?

[Muscovy duck] Also known as knob-headed duck, foreign duck, musk duck, scientific name Cairna moschata, it is the same species but different genus as common domestic duck. Muscovy duck is mainly produced in Gutian, Fuzhou suburbs and Longhai, and is distributed in Fuqing, Putian, Jinjiang, Changtai, Longyan, Datian, Pucheng and other cities and counties. The main production area in northern Fujian is in Gutian County, where black Muscovy ducks are raised, and male ducks are transported to various places in eastern Fujian and northern Fujian to produce "half-Muscovy ducks". [Shutter duck] Shaoxing Muscovy duck has a unique feather color, with brown spots on the white-gray feathers, hence the name. Shaoxing Muscovy duck is one of my country's excellent egg-laying duck breeds, known as the "Pearl of Poultry". It has the characteristics of small size, fast growth, low feed and high egg production. Shaoyu Plain is the origin and breeding center of Shaoxing Muscovy duck, with unique advantages. Muscovy duck originated in the tropical regions of Central and South America, and our province has a long history of breeding.

4. What is the difference between water duck seedlings and landlubber duck seedlings?

1. Different appearance

The young of landlubber is relatively sturdy, with a large head with a reticulate corona, a short and thick neck, and an oblong body. The young of water duck is smaller, with no reticulate corona on its head, only pappus.

2. Different colors

The feathers of young landlubbers are generally pure black or pure white, bright and shiny, and the color of the duck eggs is grayish white. The feathers of young water ducks are brightly colored, including green, brown-red, purple-blue, etc., and the color of the duck eggs is green.

5. How to distinguish between egg-laying ducklings and mallard ducklings?

The distinction method is as follows

First, the difference between varieties: Muscovy ducks are mainly meat-producing ducks, while egg-laying ducks are mainly egg-laying ducks. Beijing White Duck and Cherry Valley Meat Duck are meat ducks, while Shaoxing Muscovy ducks are egg-laying ducks. Gaoyou Muscovy ducks are both egg- and meat-producing ducks.

Second, ducks have different body shapes. Meat ducks are large and compact, while egg-laying ducks are small and slender.

3. Meat ducks are fat and have more subcutaneous fat, while laying ducks are slightly thin and have less fat.

Fourth, the breeding cycle of meat ducks is short, and they are marketed in 40-100 days, while laying ducks are eliminated at least once a year.

6. Humidity management for one-day-old ducks?

The duckling house should be kept dry and clean, with a relative humidity of 60% to 70% best. When the humidity exceeds 80% and the temperature is not suitable, the ducklings will show symptoms such as lack of energy, loss of appetite, huddling, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, and loose and messy villi. The most prominent manifestation is feather pecking. In severe cases, the feathers on the ducklings' heads, necks, and backs are all pecked out, and they look as if they had been plucked out after being scalded with hot water.

Most of these ducklings are poorly developed, with weakened vitality and disease resistance, and are likely to become dead ducks in the future.

If the temperature is low and the humidity is high, the damage will be serious. The ducklings will lose body heat quickly and easily catch cold and get sick, and feed consumption will increase.

If the humidity is lower than 50%, it is easy to cause respiratory diseases in ducklings, and symptoms of mild dehydration such as dry toes and lack of energy will appear.

7. What is the temperature of one-day-old chicks?

The brooding temperature for chicks on the first day is 32-35℃. As the chicks age, the brooding temperature should be gradually reduced. It is generally advisable to reduce it by 2-3℃ per week until it reaches 20℃, at which time the chicks can be weaned.

8. What is the shape of a one-day-old Chinese bee larvae?

We can judge the age of bee larvae by their size and the amount of royal jelly. For one-day-old larvae, since they have just hatched from eggs, their bodies are generally small and curved, about the same size as bee eggs, with less royal jelly around them. When viewed against the sun, there is only a small bright spot inside. For two-day-old larvae, their bodies are crescent-shaped, and when viewed against the sun, the larvae are more obvious, like a thread end, with more royal jelly inside. For three-day-old larvae, their bodies are large and curved, and are very obvious to look at, with a certain thickness.

9. I want to buy ducklings. Are ducklings sold in winter?

Ducklings are available all year round. The ducklings that are purchased can be dehumidified by using a heat lamp or a heat furnace. In summer, it is enough to keep warm for 7 days, and the insulation temperature is suitable at 30 degrees. In autumn and winter, the insulation time can be extended for a few days.

The time of watering should not be too long just after insulation, and the time of watering should be increased slowly.

10. What is the difference between Muscovy ducklings and Shelduck ducklings?

1. Different types

Muscovy ducks are different species from common domestic ducks. Muscovy ducks are mute ducks, while domestic ducks are mallards.

2. Different appearance

The appearance of Muscovy ducks is obviously different from that of ordinary ducks. Muscovy ducks have a body shape that is pointed in front and narrow in the back, and are long and oval. They have a large head, short neck, short and narrow bill, well-developed beak and claws, broad and plump chest, and a long and thin tail. They do not have enlarged buttocks like domestic ducks. There are red or black tumors at the base of the beak and on both sides of the head muscles. They do not grow feathers, so they can be clearly distinguished.

3. Different colors of feathers

The feathers of Muscovy ducks are generally white, black, and black and white, with a few being silver-gray; while the feathers of ordinary ducks are generally white, tawny, sparrow-colored, etc.
