CATDOLL: Chickens that are less likely to get sick and easier to keep alive?

1. Chickens that are not prone to illness and easy to raise?

Dulong chicken is a chicken raised by the Dulong ethnic minority in Yunnan, China for generations. It is small and compact, with feathers of mixed colors. It is mainly distributed in the northernmost part of the Dulong River basin, the junction of northern Myanmar and the border between Yunnan and Tibet in China and Sichuan. It has strong foraging ability, good flying skills, strong disease resistance, and delicious meat. It can adapt to the harsh conditions of high altitude and high humidity and is suitable for free-range in mountainous areas, but lays fewer eggs.

Dulong chickens are tolerant to roughage and strong in disease resistance, and have never died of illness. Chickens from other places and their hybrids with Dulong chickens are prone to illness and die in large numbers. It is a bit unbelievable that chickens do not get sick, but the Dulong chickens in the Dulong River Basin do not get sick.

Dulong chicken is called "Ganbing" in Dulong language, which means very small chicken. According to Dulong elders, Dulong chicken is a kind of chicken passed down from generation to generation by the Dulong people in Dulongjiang Township. At present, this breed is only found in the Dulong people's residence in Dulongjiang Township in my country.

On January 15, 2010, the Dulong chicken was approved and identified by the National Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Committee and officially became part of the National Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Catalog. The Dulong chicken is a traditional and unique breed of Dulongjiang Township, Gongshan County, and the local Dulong people have been using and protecting them for generations.

The Dulong chicken is produced in a remote mountainous area with steep terrain and extremely inconvenient transportation. In addition, the mountains are closed for 6 months every year, so most chickens are raised by self-breeding and self-feeding. There are no conditions for conscious selection and breeding of chickens, resulting in the Dulong chicken's feathers being of mixed color.

2. Why are chickens in large farms less likely to get sick?

Because large chicken farms are located in the wild where the air quality is better, chickens are less likely to get sick.

3. Why are newly caught chickens prone to illness?

Let's be careful, chickens are prone to illness. Because we know very little about raising chickens, before you catch the chicks, you should read more books on raising chickens and pay attention to what aspects.

The most important thing is that when the chicks are caught, they are weak and prone to various diseases. So you need to read these books to find out what injections or nasal drops, what medicines should be given when the chicks are caught, and how to prevent chick diseases.
