CATDOLL: What is the market prospect of centipede farming?

What is the market prospect for farmed centipedes?

In the special breeding industry, centipede breeding has always been considered a good project. Especially in the past few years, the long-term disorderly capture has exhausted the existing wild centipede resources, making the business opportunities of centipede breeding prominent. Centipedes are not easy to get sick, and they can be raised with insects, animal viscera, etc. The cost of centipede breeding is not high, so it is a good special breeding project. In the long run, the prospects of centipede breeding are promising, but small investors need to be cautious in the near future.

As a precious medicinal material, centipedes are in great demand. According to statistics, the supply of centipedes can only meet 20% to 30% of the demand. Therefore, artificial centipede breeding has become a promising career and a family sideline that benefits the country and the people.

From the perspective of the domestic market, in recent years, with the rapid development of traditional Chinese medicine, the Chinese herbal medicine market has become increasingly prosperous. In addition, due to people's renewed trust in traditional Chinese medicine and the huge development of Chinese patent medicine research, precious Chinese herbal medicines are in short supply and their market prices are rising. In the early 1980s, the market purchase price of centipedes was only about 40 cents per centipede, but now it has risen to 2 yuan, and there is still a shortage of supply. The market supply of centipede venom is far from sufficient.

However, centipedes have certain requirements for temperature, humidity and breeding facilities when they are cultivated. In addition, centipedes with high medicinal value grow slowly and have a long breeding cycle. Investors must be familiar with the habits, mating and egg-laying time of centipedes. These require certain professional knowledge and practical experience. Any mistake in any link will ruin the initial investment.

In addition, the centipedes needed by pharmaceutical factories are all dried centipedes in bundles, which investors need to dry before selling. During this period, dead centipedes are prone to worms. The price of worm-infested centipedes is low, which undoubtedly further compresses the profit margin of investors' centipede breeding.

Therefore, centipede breeding should be done with caution. Without technical accumulation, large investments in centipede breeding projects involve greater risks.
