CATDOLL: How to make jelly for the little turtle at home

1. How to make jelly for the little turtles at home

Please take a look at the precautions for turtles to hibernate^-^

Before hibernation, you need to fatten the turtle. Starting from September, you need to feed the turtle twice a day for a month to store enough fat for the winter. In October, the turtle will stop eating. Soak the turtle in slightly warm water to stimulate defecation and clean the intestines. The feces left in the body will be discharged to avoid long-term retention in the intestines and cause intestinal diseases. The turtle will survive on these fats during the six months of no food. Turtles that are too thin or have poor eating conditions, or are too small, need to be heated to 28 degrees during the winter. The turtle will eat normally. If it hibernates in this state without heating, it may die because it cannot hold on until the temperature rises due to the small amount of fat stored.

The real hibernation method is to spread wet thick sand in the container, cover it with a ball of newspaper, and the turtle will go into the sand to sleep by itself. Rehydrate once a week to keep the sand and newspaper moist. Hibernation is a test for domestic turtles. First of all, you have to make sure your baby is healthy and has no disease. Turtles with poor physical fitness must not hibernate. It is recommended not to hibernate for small turtles and young turtles, as it is difficult to survive the winter! You can prepare some sand for the hibernating turtle, but if it does not crawl in, do not force it to bury it. Turtles that do not hibernate in the sand can be placed in shallow water and covered with a layer of wet cotton yarn to keep it moist, which also has a certain degree of insulation effect. For turtles hibernating in the sand, make sure the sand is clean and unpolluted. Keep the sand moist during the hibernation period. Turtles may wake up during hibernation, so make sure that they will not crawl to a place where you cannot find them after waking up. In addition, turtles that wake up during hibernation must not be fed.

When the temperature drops below 13℃, they begin to hibernate. During the entire hibernation period, their heads, tails and limbs are retracted into their shells, their eyes are closed, they do not eat, move or excrete, and they do not move until they come out of hibernation. If the environment is not suitable, it is difficult for them to hibernate. The hibernation temperature for turtles is suitable between 1 and 10℃. A temperature higher than 10℃ can easily cause the turtle to wake up, thereby consuming its physical strength and causing its physical condition to decline, which is not conducive to its growth and reproduction in the coming year. Repeated hibernation and awakening during a hibernation period can also cause the death of the turtle. Temperatures below 0℃ will freeze the turtle or even freeze it to death. Therefore, when setting up a hibernation place for turtles, possible temperature changes must be considered.

It will not eat until the end of March or early April when hibernation ends.

Turtles are omnivorous animals. When they are young, they like to eat meat. You can feed them small fish, shrimps, pig liver, bloodworms, cockroaches, etc. Turtles usually eat in water. When they are older, they like to eat vegetarian food. They will chew water plants. You can feed them some clean vegetables. If you are too lazy to deal with those messy things, just buy a box of turtle food and feed them slowly. High-quality turtle food is rich in calcium, protein, fiber, fat, vitamins A, B12, C, D3, and E. It is nutritious and must not be delicious. Turtles must think so. Feed in moderation. Turtles have a poor digestive system. If the turtle is too small, you can help it chop up large shrimps. After they finish eating, take out the leftover food.

Start eating after the spring thunder, cover the carapace by 0.5CM with water, and wait until the temperature stabilizes (15-20 degrees) before eating, because they hibernate in winter, although some do not sleep, but they are closed-throat, and eat when spring comes and the temperature is over 20 degrees

In winter, turtles like to bask in the sun outside because the water is too cold.

Give him food (preferably fresh) and he will eat it by himself, don't mind~

Also, place the turtle in a well-lit area.

Don't put it indoors at night (when it's cold) to keep the temperature

Turtles are tropical animals.

It is difficult to say when the hibernation period of turtles ends. It is different in different places. Generally, it depends on the temperature. When the temperature is above 20 degrees, the turtles will eat.

2. How long does a turtle hibernate? Do they need to put sand and stones in the water when they hibernate?

It is best for turtles to hibernate in the sand, because sand can keep them warm, which is conducive to hibernation. There should not be a lot of water in the sand, just keep it moist. If there is really no sand, put the turtle in a plastic basin, do not put water in it, and cover it with a wet towel or newspaper.

Note: 1. The turtle should be placed in a quiet corner.

2. The temperature should be stable. Fluctuations in temperature are not conducive to the turtle's hibernation.

3. Problems with raising small turtles

Put them in the water, it's okay, just don't let them run out. They will get used to it over time and won't drown.

Place it in a dark, quiet place with good ventilation and a constant temperature of about 25 degrees.

Put it in water with a depth of 2 to 3 times the thickness of the turtle. The turtle may not sink to the bottom at first, but it will slowly learn to do so. Don't worry about drowning. . . Fish, shrimp, loach, shrimp and loach are enough twice a week. I have been raising turtles for 3 years and have only fed them these. The turtles have never been sick and their bodies are all in perfect shape. Don't feed them too much, just half full. If they don't eat, use female bloodworms to lure them. This thing is nutritious and turtles love to eat it. Don't use nematodes, which are dirty; don't use mealworms and barley worms, which are difficult to digest and can easily damage the gastrointestinal tract of turtles; don't use pork, which has a high fat content; don't use beef and mutton, which can easily cause internal heat; don't use human food, which has various additives that turtles cannot metabolize. After putting the food on the table, leave and give it a quiet, dark environment, but be sure to clean out the dead food afterwards! They will eat very quickly. My turtles all start eating on the same day they are bought! As long as the environment is good, they will start eating very quickly. Using female bloodworms to start eating works very well. Feed your turtle some animal offal, which is nutritious, but don't feed it too much. Just add a little once a week or each time you feed it.

The two turtles must be raised separately.
