CATDOLL: What animal is the natural enemy of centipedes?

What animals are the natural enemies of centipedes?

The natural enemies of centipedes are birds, chickens, ants, etc. Centipedes are terrestrial arthropods, and their bodies are composed of many segments, each of which has walking legs, so they are multi-legged creatures.

Centipede, also known as Tianlong, centipede, less-spined centipede, a maggot, etc., is a venomous, predatory terrestrial arthropod. Common centipedes include red-headed, green-headed, and black-headed. The red-headed centipede has a reddish-black back, a light red abdomen, and light orange-red or yellow feet. The green-headed centipede has a blue back and feet, a light blue abdomen, and is small in size, about half the length of the red-headed centipede.

Centipede is the dried whole body of the Giant Scolopendra subspinipes of the family Scolopendra. Centipede is pungent, warm in nature, and poisonous. It is a traditional animal Chinese medicinal material in my country, with the effects of extinguishing wind and stopping spasm, detoxifying and dispersing knots, and dredging meridians and relieving pain.

1. Extinguish wind and stop spasms: centipedes can clear the meridians and stop liver wind, and convulsions will stop when liver wind is removed, so they have the effect of expelling wind and relieving spasms. Centipedes are often used to treat spasms and convulsions caused by diseases such as facial paralysis, acute and chronic convulsions, tetanus, and epilepsy. They are usually used in combination with scorpions, gastrodia, Uncaria rhynchophylla, silkworm, and atractylodes macrocephala to enhance the efficacy.

2. Detoxification and Dispersing Nodules: Centipedes have detoxification effects. External use of centipedes can treat sores, swelling, scrofula, and other diseases. In addition, centipedes have the effect of dredging meridians and dispersing nodules. When combined with scorpions, they can reach the meridians externally and the tendons and bones internally, dispel wind and dredge meridians, relieve pain, detoxify, disperse nodules, and reduce swelling. Centipedes can also detoxify snake venom and can be used for snake bites.

3. Unblocking meridians and relieving pain: centipedes are warm and poisonous, and have the effect of unblocking meridians and relieving pain. They can be used to treat walking arthralgia, hot arthralgia, and tendon arthralgia. They are the first choice of Chinese medicine for treating arthralgia caused by phlegm and blood stasis. Clinically, they can be used for cervical headache, periarthritis of shoulder, lumbar disc herniation, knee osteoarthritis and other diseases.
