A brief talk on the entrepreneurial journey of breeding earthworms and scorpionsA brief talk on the entrepreneurial journey of breeding earthworms and scorpions Ma Zhenyong, a college student from Aiting, Linquan County, raises earthworms and scorpions, with a half-year output value exceeding 200,000 yuan During college, he spent most of his time in the biological laboratory and obtained a national patent for a special glove for extracting scorpion venom. After graduating from college, he gave up a high-paying job at a special breeding company in Bozhou and returned to his hometown to develop earthworm breeding and achieved success. Ma Zhenyong, who graduated from Fuyang Normal University in 2010 with a major in animal science, insisted on putting his dream into practice and embarked on an entrepreneurial path for college students engaged in special breeding. Scorpion breeding in the laboratory The 24-year-old Ma Zhenyong is of medium build and slightly thin, which is the first impression he left on the reporter. In a remote village, he tried to start a business with the tens of thousands of yuan he earned after graduating from college, and experienced the hardships of starting a business for the first time. This is what makes this young man different from most of his peers. It turns out that Ma Zhenyong, who studied animal science, had developed a strong interest in special breeding as early as his sophomore year. "Many classmates are used to going to the classroom to study, but I like to stay in the laboratory all day and deal with those small animals." Ma Zhenyong said that his home is on the north bank of Xiaohong River in the south of Aiting Town, where the terrain is relatively low and there are rich animal and plant resources, including Chinese medicinal materials such as scorpions and centipedes with high medicinal value. When he was a sophomore, he bought 200 East Asian scorpions to breed in the laboratory. While getting familiar with the living habits of scorpions, he also invented a special glove for extracting scorpion venom, which was awarded a practical technology patent issued by the State Intellectual Property Office. "At that time, I even brought scorpions to the dormitory to raise them, which scared several roommates. However, it was this attempt that laid the foundation for my current entrepreneurship." Ma Zhenyong said that now, he uses the abandoned adobe and brick houses in the village to raise earthworms, scorpions and centipedes. The inspiration comes from the practical exploration during college. Employment without forgetting the entrepreneurial dream Since his junior year, Ma Zhenyong has been interning at a special breeding company in Bozhou under the unified arrangement of the school, where he learned earthworm breeding technology. After graduation, he was retained by the company because of his excellent performance until August 2015 when he decided to return home to start a business. Ma Zhenyong didn't want to work for others all his life like his classmates. However, it was this simple idea that kept him from giving up his original dream, and he chose to start a business one year after graduation. "After working for more than two years, I have saved tens of thousands of yuan, all of which I used as investment for starting a business." Ma Zhenyong said that his family was not rich, and it was not easy for his parents to marry his two elder brothers and send him to college. His family hoped that he would find a stable job in the city after graduating from college and bid farewell to the rural areas where they had lived for generations. His family did not strongly oppose his entrepreneurial plan, but they did not show any special support. However, Ma Zhenyong, who was optimistic about the special breeding market, did not give up his pursuit because of his family's indifference. He bought earthworm eggs and placed them in abandoned houses in the village to incubate and breed, looking forward to the harvest in a few months. During that time, Ma Zhenyong stayed in the dark and damp old house all day, staring at the thermometer and hygrometer, fearing that there would be any mistakes. After seven months of trial and error, the earthworms he cultivated reached the medicinal standard and were widely popular in the Bozhou medicinal material market. His personal entrepreneurship was a success. However, in order to obtain more profits, he had to expand the scale of breeding and improve the scientific and technological content of special breeding. Try to combine industry, academia and research In order to expand the scale of breeding, Ma Zhenyong registered and established Anhui Rongkang Special Breeding Co., Ltd., based in his hometown to develop franchised breeders in the surrounding areas. In just half a year, the company's output value exceeded 200,000 yuan, and nearly 20 earthworm breeders were developed. While seeing the scale effect, Ma Zhenyong thought of cooperating with his alma mater, Fuyang Normal University, to develop a special breeding industry-university-research project. "In the past few years, I paid more attention to the student Ma Zhenyong. Now, he is cooperating with the school laboratory with his entrepreneurial project, and our school is very supportive. "Qu Changqing, a professor at the School of Biological and Food Engineering of Fuyang Normal University, told reporters that there are not many students on university campuses who are as keen on animal experiments as Ma Zhenyong, and even fewer who can use their professional expertise to put their entrepreneurial projects into practice after graduation. Ma Zhenyong has breeding technology and the school has a scientific research platform. Strengthening the industry-university-research cooperation between the two sides is beneficial to the innovation and entrepreneurship of college students and the improvement of the school's scientific research level. In April this year, we recommended Ma Zhenyong's innovative entrepreneurial project to participate in the Entrepreneurship Practice Challenge, and won the college-level gold medal, the school-level gold medal and the provincial bronze medal. These practices in industry-university-research cooperation have created conditions for Ma Zhenyong's career development, won honors for Fuyang Normal University, and set an example for innovation and entrepreneurship for college students. Now, the finished Chinese medicinal materials such as earthworms, scorpions, centipedes, etc. produced by Ma Zhenyong are favored by Chinese medicine manufacturers in the Bozhou Chinese medicinal materials market because of their low cost, mature technology and good quality. "I plan to apply for a business loan to build a standardized breeding farm to help more breeders increase their income and become rich," said Ma Zhenyong. ; Which Tuyuan breeding franchise is the best? The company makes money by joining the franchise, and most of the farmers are deceived. I have been raising earthworms for more than five years, with a breeding area of more than 1,000 square meters. It is still a breeding farm. Those companies are not large in scale, and they raise a little earthworm as gold, deceiving people to join the franchise and charging franchise fees. Be careful not to be deceived. The egg mass is only about 90 yuan per catty, and the dried earthworm is 30-50 yuan per catty. |
