CATDOLL: How to breed Chinese bees quickly in a live frame without a nest foundation

Chinese bee live frame soil breeding method without nest foundation, live frame but how to reproduce quickly

answer

Method: 1. Prepare a nest frame without a foundation and apply beeswax on the wire. 2. Insert a small piece of honeycomb into the gap in the middle of the nest frame and press it tightly with your hands, then place two partitions to confine the bee colony between the partitions. 3. Place the nest frame with small pieces of honeycomb into the bee colony and give appropriate incentive feeding. Advantages of using a nest foundation: The cells and bees are evenly distributed, and the secretion of beeswax can be reduced, which increases the life of worker bees.

1. Method of raising Chinese bees in movable frame soil without nest foundation

1. Methods

(1) Prepare a nest frame without a nest foundation and equipped with iron wire (beeswax can be applied on the iron wire to speed up the formation of the honeycomb).

(2) Insert a small piece of honeycomb into the gap in the middle of the nest frame and press it tightly with your hands. When placing it, use two partitions to confine the bees between the partitions to reduce their activity area, which is conducive to the bees climbing onto the nest frame.

(3) Place the nesting frame with small pieces of honeycomb into the beehive.

(4) Provide appropriate incentive feeding to promote the speed at which the bee colony builds honeycombs.

2. Advantages of using nest foundation

(1) After using the nest foundation, the cells and the bees in the cells are evenly distributed.

(2) It is not easily damaged when extracting honey and can be reused.

(3) Using nest foundations can save a lot of time, allowing worker bees to go out to collect honey. At the same time, it can reduce the secretion of beeswax, increase the lifespan of worker bees, and reduce their workload.

2. How to quickly reproduce a live frame colony

1. Carry out hive transfer in the spring afternoon or in the evening of summer and autumn when the external nectar source is relatively abundant. Specific operation: Use smoke to drive away the bees, then cut off the honeycomb in the beehive and fix it in the nest frame, then put the nest frame into the movable frame beehive, and transfer the bee colony to the beehive.

2. When there are few bees and many combs, old combs should be taken out, or appropriate capped combs should be taken from other strong colonies. When there are many bees and few combs, add nest frames to the colony in time for the bees to build combs.

3. When the queen cells in the bee colony tend to mature, artificial swarming is carried out. The specific operation is: the original queen bee and new worker bees (including most of the capped combs) are transferred to the new beehive to form a new colony, while the old worker bees, egg and larvae combs and queen cells (the best quality queen cells are retained) are left in the original colony.

4. In the early stage of large honey flow, transfer capped combs to organize the production group.

5. Regularly clean the garbage, wax glands and dead bees accumulated at the bottom of the box.

How to install a beehive foundation? What tools are needed to install a beehive foundation?

The installation method of the honeycomb foundation is relatively complicated. The tools needed include special iron wire for installing the foundation, wax for filling the grooves, wire embedding tools, etc. First of all, when we get the foundation, we should frame the foundation first. However, some manufacturers now directly sell the foundation with a frame, which can be used directly after receiving it without installing it by yourself. The honeycomb foundation should be made of pure beeswax. If the mineral wax content in the foundation is too high, the bees will not produce honey on it, which will affect the output of honey, so the selection of the foundation is very important.

The first step in installing the nest foundation is to punch four small holes of equal distance on the center lines of the two sides of the nest frame. However, in order to facilitate beekeepers, manufacturers now punch holes on both sides of the nest frame before leaving the factory. After punching the equidistant holes, use special iron wire for installing the nest frame to cross four holes. The iron wire is not thick iron wire, but a relatively thin No. 24 thin iron wire. The two sides of the nest frame must be pulled very tight with thin iron wire, and it cannot be loose. After tightening the iron wire, it needs to be fixed with small nails.

The top of the nest foundation needs to be inserted into the frame groove of the upper beam. The groove needs to be melted with wax and poured to keep the frame groove sealed. Then it is placed on the wire burying plate of the nest foundation and the wire is buried into the nest foundation with a wire burying tool. The wire burying tool can be a roller wire burying tool or a copper head wire burying tool. It can be any tool that is convenient for you to use. The wire burying plate of the nest foundation is a thick plate about 15 mm thick that is slightly smaller than the inner circumference of the nest frame. A wooden strip about 152 mm long and 5 mm wide is nailed horizontally at both ends below.

Beekeepers usually put the nest frames with the foundations installed into the newly separated bee colony to build honeycombs during the swarming season. In fact, as long as the average temperature is kept at around 15 degrees Celsius, honeycombs can be built in other seasons when the nectar conditions are good. The built honeycombs need to be well preserved and sprayed with some insect cleaner when necessary. They can also be fumigated with sulfur, carbon disulfide, or glacial acetic acid. Otherwise, the built honeycombs will easily be damaged by nest insects or attract bee robbers.
