CATDOLL: How much does real honey cost per kilogram?

1. How much does real honey cost per kilogram?

This question is really hard to answer. They are all pure natural honey, all mature honey. Local honey can be sold for more than 200 yuan per pound, while Italian honey may only cost a few dozen yuan per pound, but they are all good honey. Personally, I think you should not buy too cheap ones. You don’t believe that the ones that cost 9.9 yuan with free shipping are good, but you should also not buy too expensive ones. If they are too expensive, they will fool people.

2. How long does honey last?

The shelf life of honey on the market is generally 18 months or 2 years. my country's Food Safety Law clearly stipulates that, except for salt, solid sugar, soy sauce and high-concentration alcohol, if the food does not have a specific shelf life, the shelf life shall not exceed 2 years. However, if it is well preserved, the shelf life of honey is usually much longer than its shelf life. Of course, the shelf life of honey is closely related to the quality of honey and the storage conditions.

Honey contains acidic substances and high concentrations of sugars, which have a strong bactericidal effect and can inhibit the growth and reproduction of many bacteria. Therefore, honey can be stored for a long time. If the honey is immature, the storage time is shorter. At the same time, the storage conditions are also very important, because honey has a strong water absorption capacity. When the water content of honey exceeds 21%, it provides favorable conditions for the survival of yeast. If it is not stored properly, the honey will ferment and deteriorate.

It is recommended to seal and store honey in a cool and dry place after purchase, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperature.

3. Where does honey come from? What is the difference between raw honey and cooked honey?

Honey is a sweet substance that is brewed by bees from nectar or secretions collected from plants. It contains more than 180 nutrients needed by the human body.

There are two ways to classify raw honey and cooked honey. One is based on whether the honey is mature. Mature honey is called cooked honey. Mature honey has been fully brewed, with a degree of Baume above 42 degrees, and is rich in nutrients. Immature honey is raw honey. Immature honey has not been fully brewed, with a water content of more than 21%, and contains relatively few nutrients and is unstable. In this classification method, the nutritional value of cooked honey is higher than that of raw honey.

The other is to use whether it has been heated at high temperature as the standard. Honey that has been heated at high temperature is cooked honey. The concentrated honey on the market is such cooked honey. The Baume degree of honey that has been dehydrated at high temperature increases, but the high temperature destroys the active substances in the honey. Concentrated honey contains almost no nutrients and has a very low edible value. Honey that has not been heated at high temperature is raw honey. At this time, there is no way to distinguish the nutritional value of raw honey and cooked honey.

4. How much does a pound of pure honey cost now?

With the continuous development and growth of the beekeeping industry in various places in recent years, some honey merchants have ignored the interests of consumers and pushed some fake honey and inferior honey into the consumer market.

Here, the phenomenon of selling fake honey is common, with fake honey costing 20 to 30 yuan per kilogram everywhere, while real high-quality honey is not in demand.

If consumers want to buy good honey, they can only buy it from beekeepers with good reputation. High-quality honey is very expensive, usually around 100 yuan per kilogram.
