CATDOLL: How many willow trees should be planted per acre to make it fruitful? (How many willow trees should be planted per acre to make it fruitful?)

1. How to cultivate cicadas by cuttings?

1. Choose a site. First of all, choose a suitable site to plant cicadas. The planting site should be convenient for irrigation and drainage, fertile land, preferably sandy land, and cheap rent. Or you can also choose your own land. Also, observe whether there are cicadas unearthed nearby. If these conditions are met, it can basically be used to plant cicadas.

2. Selection of tree species. Planting trees is an important step in breeding golden cicadas. The better the tree species, the higher the yield of golden cicadas. We usually see poplars, fruit trees, elms, willows (bamboo willows), etc. At present, bamboo willows are mostly chosen for breeding cicadas. Bamboo willows grow fast, are resistant to flooding, easy to survive, and can be planted at high density. At present, artificial breeding of golden cicadas is the most selected tree species.

3. Irrigation. Since planting trees requires water, in order to provide sufficient water to the trees, watering should be done in time to ensure the growth of the trees and the growth of the root system, providing favorable conditions for breeding cicadas. If the weather is dry, irrigation should also be done in time. Irrigation equipment costs about 150-200 per mu of land (the cost will be lower if there is more land).

4. Hatching cicada ants. The time for hatching cicada ants is when the weather gradually warms up in April, and the egg branches begin to hatch. For us novices, since we don’t know how to preserve egg branches for the winter, most of them buy hatching strips that have been hatched by others. You only need to buy egg branches for hatching after May. When hatching, you should pay attention to the temperature and humidity of the egg branches. The egg branches should be kept away from direct sunlight, observe the state of the egg branches more often, and replenish water appropriately. Do not let the egg branches be in a dry state, otherwise mites will break out. Once mites break out, they should be controlled with medication in time. For us novices, the outbreak of mites is a very difficult problem. Therefore, we should learn more and improve our golden cicada egg branch hatching technology and hatching experience.

2. How many cicadas can a willow tree support?

A willow tree about 13 centimeters thick can produce more than 200 kilograms of cicadas a year.

3. What is the planting density of cicadas?

Golden cicadas like trees with soft wood and more sap. Suitable tree species for raising cicadas include willow, elm, poplar, ash, sycamore, Chinese toon, etc. Fruit trees include apricot, plum, apple, pear, etc. For the planting density of trees, take bamboo willow as an example, the planting density of 2*1 in the first year can be sufficient. A high density can lay more egg branches to increase the yield. In the second year, the trees gradually grow up and can be thinned. In the third year, the final density is 4*2, with more than 80 trees per mu.

4. How many cicadas can be produced from one acre of willow trees?

One acre of willow trees can produce about 30-50 kilograms of cicadas.

5. Are there cicadas under the walnut tree?

No, whether it can come out has nothing to do with whether the root system is bitter or not. To raise cicadas, you need to collect some dry branches. Most of the cicada eggs are laid on the branches. When the branches dry up, they fall to the ground and then dive deep into the soil. Some people say that they grow up slowly by absorbing nutrients from tree roots, but this is not accurate, because we can also find a lot of cicadas unearthed in places without trees.

When the cicada comes out of the ground, it has a strong tendency to go to trees. Not all trees will attract cicadas. People who often catch cicadas should be able to tell that it really won't climb some trees even if they are close to it. It would rather climb grass than some trees, such as pine trees and French plane trees. I don't know how the cicadas themselves tell the difference. Trees that are more likely to attract cicadas include poplars, willows, and some fruit trees, such as apple trees, pomegranate trees, etc.

The texture of walnut trees is actually quite soft, so it should be said that they can be used to grow cicadas. However, most of the cicadas sold here are from apple orchards. In summer, they can produce many cicadas per acre. You can use tape to stick them all together about one meter from the trunk, and then just pick them up at night. Can you be sure that walnut trees can produce cicadas? In fact, one method is very simple. You can see if there are cicadas staying on the walnut tree in summer. If there are many cicadas staying and screaming on it, then you can raise it. If you want to grow cicadas, most of its eggs are cut from branches outside and planted in your own orchard. It is better to try it yourself.

Actually, I wanted to raise this thing before, but if you want to raise it, it can't be too small, at least 10 acres or 20 acres, so that you can see the profit. If you succeed, please give me a like and leave a message below, and we can communicate together.

6. How old are the trees that can be used to grow cicadas?

You can raise cicadas after more than three years.

For breeding cicadas, choose poplar, tung, willow and various fruit trees that are more than three years old. It is not easy to breed cicadas in trees with bitter sap. The breeding density should be reasonable according to the size of the tree. The amount of seeds used for 3-4 year old trees, 5-6 year old trees, and 6-10 year old trees is different. Cicadas are not very demanding on land. Sandy soil and neutral soil are better. Pay attention to watering when the land is dry. The land for breeding cicadas should not be low-lying. Pay attention to drainage when it rains heavily.
