High-yield shrimp ponds should be equipped with aerators, and some submerged plants should be planted in the pond, generally not exceeding 1/4 of the pond area.

2. Pond disinfection: Common disinfectants include quicklime, bleaching powder, croton, etc. After the drugs disappear completely, shrimps can be raised. Water injection and fertilization: 0.5 meters of water is injected one week before stocking, and fertilizer is applied according to the fatness of the pond water to increase the palatable bait for young shrimps, namely plankton.

3. Shrimp fry stocking: In the south, fresh shrimp can be farmed twice a year, while in the north, it is generally farmed once a year. For those who farm once a year, the stocking time is May to June. 2-3 kg of shrimps with eggs, or 100,000 to 150,000 shrimp fry, are stocked in 667 square meters, and the yield can reach 100 kg.

4. Feeding: Shrimp are omnivorous animals with a wide range of diets, but they are also selective. They prefer bean cakes, peanut cakes, bran, and rice bran as plant feeds; they prefer earthworms, snails, small fish and shrimps, fish meal, flour, silkworm pupae, etc. as animal feeds.

Freshwater shrimp fry breeding technology

1. There must be water hyacinths on the water surface (accounting for 1/3), and it is best to have aquatic plants on the bottom of the water, and there should be hidden caves to increase the attachment of shrimp fry for molting, and also to facilitate the inspection of fry by washing them with water hyacinths to grasp the fry emergence time and shrimp growth.

2. Add fences and filters at the water inlet to prevent harmful organisms from entering the pond, prevent frogs from entering the pond to lay eggs, and prevent tadpoles from eating shrimp fry. At the same time, prevent parent shrimp from climbing and escaping.

3. Strengthen inspections and check the emergence of fry every morning and evening. When the shrimplets are separated from their mothers, promptly capture the broodstock and return them to the broodstock pond for further cultivation. Try to minimize inventory checks of the ponds and be especially careful during operations to avoid affecting the broodstock carrying eggs and the newly hatched shrimplets.

4. Ensure the timely cultivation of small zooplankton such as rotifers for feeding the newly hatched shrimps. It is estimated that 3-5 days before hatching, a small amount of small zooplankton should be caught from the special feed pond and put into the shrimp fry pond.

What is a green shrimp?
