CATDOLL: Earthworm farming and fishing (earthworm farming and fishing skills)

1. How to breed earthworms for fishing?

It is very convenient to raise earthworms for fishing at home, as follows:

1. Container: When raising earthworms at home, you need to prepare old washbasins or old plastic boxes as breeding containers.

2. Soil: Mix the silt excavated from the river and the humus soil in the flower bed to make the cultivation medium.

3. Planting seedlings: Place the earthworm seedlings in a box and cover them with straw mats to block out light.

4. Maintenance: Spray water on the soil every 3-5 days to prevent the earthworms' body surface from drying out.

2. How to breed earthworms for fishing?

The container for raising earthworms can be wooden boxes, clay pots, wooden barrels, porcelain pots, etc., which need to be easy to penetrate water and breathable. Put fertile and moist soil in the container, put earthworms and the food they like. Put a cardboard at the bottom of the container to prevent earthworms from escaping. Earthworms are omnivorous animals, such as humus, animal feces, soil bacteria, fungi, etc., as well as the decomposition products of these substances, fruit peels, vegetable leaves, porridge, and rice washing water are all their food.

Earthworms have a keen sense of taste and prefer sweet and sour foods. The most suitable living temperature for earthworms is around 20 degrees Celsius. They will hibernate at temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius and die at temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. They can reproduce normally at 15 degrees Celsius. If the temperature exceeds 33 degrees Celsius, they will crawl away or die. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a suitable temperature environment for raising earthworms.

In addition to paying attention to rain and sun protection, maintaining appropriate temperature and humidity, and feeding in time, you should also pay attention to timely cleaning of earthworm excrement. Replace part of the base material and add another part of new base material about half a year.

3. What is the correct way to raise earthworms while fishing?

First, the fish must be ventilated and placed in a cool place. The soil should not be too dry or too wet. They should be observed every one or two days. If earthworms crawl out, it means the climate is too hot or the soil is too wet. Second, they should be fed regularly. You can feed them vegetable leaves, rotten fruits, and millet porridge, but don't feed too much at a time.

4. How to breed earthworms for fishing?

Earthworms like warmth, moisture, darkness, and air permeability, but are afraid of light, salt, shock, and spiciness. Use loose black soil and place them in a quiet, shaded place that is neither too humid nor too dry. Keep the temperature at 20-25°C. Feed them with tomatoes and watermelon rinds!

5. Is it better to use wild earthworms or farmed earthworms for fishing?

Farmed earthworms are good, but I personally think that farmed earthworms are better for fishing.

Personally, I feel that breeding earthworms is more suitable for fishing crucian carp, perhaps because it is more targeted and was born for fishing. Whether it is the red color or the twisting posture after entering the water, it is a huge temptation to fish. In addition, it has very good hook attachment and its skin is tough and not easy to break.

It is very difficult to obtain wild earthworms, the workload is too large, and the harvest is very small. It is difficult to put the hook on when fishing, and the smell is strong. Even if you wash your hands immediately after putting it on, there will be a lot of smell left. After entering the water, the activity is poor, it is easy to get off the hook, and the skin is easy to be brittle. These things that are shortcomings in the eyes of us anglers may be the advantages of natural evolution and natural selection in wild earthworms. For example, its smell may be scattered for its own territory, and its brittle skin may be evolved to avoid natural enemies. We know that earthworms will not die if their bodies are broken, but will grow again, just like the function of a small gecko's tail.

6. How to raise earthworms for fishing?

Prepare the site: prepare a plastic or iron breeding box that is 30 to 50 centimeters high, and then add farmyard manure such as cow dung and sheep dung into it.

Feeding: Feed the worms with balanced nutrition regularly. You can use a mixture of various crumbs. Add enough soil and dry straw, and wait for the mixture to ferment before feeding. In addition, you can also feed high-nutrient bait to speed up the fattening of earthworms.

Suitable environment: Maintain the ambient temperature at 20 to 30 degrees, and the air humidity at 70 to 80 percent. Ventilate the room three to four times a day, and make sure that each ventilation time is no less than 30 minutes. In addition, provide the earthworms with two to three hours of light every day.
