Is Tilapia Dirty?

Tilapia is an omnivorous fish that loves to hang out in sewage outlets in cities and towns. It is listed as one of the top ten dirtiest fish in the world. It loves to toss in dirty water every day, but don't worry, there is a layer of black membrane in the belly of tilapia that can isolate harmful substances. Just wash the black membrane in the belly when eating.

Is tilapia dirty? Why is it said that eating tilapia is harmful?

Why do some people call tilapia, dace and catfish the three "garbage" fish?

Nearly a hundred years of peace has brought the world's population to about 7 billion, so there is a lot of garbage generated every day. These garbage are not well handled and are generally directly landfilled, so many problems arise. However, in nature, there are also some things that are regarded as garbage. Why do some people call tilapia, dace, and scavenger the three "garbage" fish? Because these three fish are particularly adaptable and will have a strong impact on local species, and their meat is not delicious, so it is normal to regard them as garbage.

In my understanding, if something cannot be well utilized in modern times, it is no different from garbage. This is also the macro-viewpoint that distinguishes between garbage and good things. In the river, there are many fish. For example, tuna is like a Porsche among cars in the eyes of many people. Not only are they rare, but they also taste very delicious, always leaving people with a sweet aftertaste. But some fish, such as tilapia and scavenger, in order to avoid being eaten by predators, they occupy the territory of other fish or make themselves very unpalatable to achieve this goal. For example, the scavenger not only has a hard shell, but its meat is also very scarce and tastes very bad, so it is regarded as garbage by most people.

In our country, it is very difficult for foreign invasive species to achieve their invasion purposes. For example, crayfish and bullfrogs still have to rely on breeding to achieve a supply balance. Spicy crayfish and stir-fried bullfrogs are very delicious foods, but they failed shortly after they were introduced into China. It took several months to create dishes that suit their taste, but chefs are not omnipotent after all, and garbage is garbage after all.

Garbage can no longer be garbage if it is put to better use. For example, tilapia has strong adaptability and a lot of meat. Although it doesn't taste very good, it is still very good as feed and can be used to raise those carnivorous animals, so that a supply balance can be achieved.

This is not the case. Whitebait is generally recognized as a "junk" fish, but tilapia and dace are still very good, and they taste good when cooked.

Because tilapia likes to eat rotten meat, and grass carp also grows in an environment with very poor water quality, and the scavenger is placed in the fish tank to eat fish feces.

These three kinds of fish live in very dirty water and have a lot of garbage in their bodies. They are inedible. Not only that, but they are also very tenacious and difficult to kill. They can only be regarded as garbage and have no value to society.

Because they feed on dirt, their living environment is extremely poor, they can survive in sewage, and their meat is difficult to digest and has a strong fishy smell, so they are called garbage fish.
