CATDOLL: How to deal with newly bought bloodworms (How to deal with newly bought bloodworms before feeding them to fish)

1. What to do with leftover frozen red worms?

If you can’t finish eating the frozen bloodworms, you can continue to freeze them.

2. How to freeze live red worms?

Red worms are basically used as bait in winter. Every time we finish fishing, we often find that the red worms we bought are not used up. How do we deal with the remaining red worms at this time?

It's very simple. We just need to wet a rag and wring out the remaining red worms on the bag, then find a container (any cup will do) to put them in, and then put them in the refrigerator. It must be in the refrigerator. It will be fine to keep it for ten days.

3. How to correctly put frozen red nematodes into the fish tank for feeding?

If you want to feed frozen red worms safely, it is best to disinfect them. Soak them in potassium permanganate solution for a while, then take them out and rinse them with clean water several times to avoid any drug residue, then pack them and freeze them in the refrigerator.

When you need to feed, just take it out and thaw it in advance. Do not feed the fish directly with frozen food. The temperature is too low and it will cause gastrointestinal discomfort, and in severe cases it may even cause enteritis.

4. How to deal with the small red worms crawling on spider webs on bonsai trees?

Red spider mites are the most stubborn pest. Ordinary anthers are difficult to kill them, and they reproduce very quickly. They usually occur on woody plants, so the most effective way to kill them is to spray them with a proportion of Wanling to water. This is also what our unit's experts told us. However, Wanling is a highly toxic pesticide. When using it, you can wear rubber gloves, and it is best to spray it outdoors. Be sure not to get it on your hands. If it sticks to your hands or clothes, wash it with clean water in time, and there will be no problem.

5. What should I do if there are red worms in the water?

If there are red worms in the well water, you need to find out the source first before dealing with it. The following are the treatment methods under different sources:

1. There are pollution sources (organic nutrients) around: sewage seepage from toilets, pig pens, kitchens and other facilities. Please change the well location and dig a well in a place without pollution around (away from toilets, pig pens, kitchens, graves, etc.). The water from the new well will not have these insects.

2. Water buckets and various utensils bring organic matter (rice water, rice soup, food debris and juice) into or wash sewage back into the well, which will breed insects.

Depending on the size of the well, a certain amount of quicklime or sodium chlorate (bleaching powder) can be put into the well to kill insects and bacteria, and the well can be cleaned the next day - drain the well water, dig out the silt, repair the well wall and add a well cover, and pay attention to water hygiene in the future (use special water buckets to draw water).

3. If it is a secondary water supply well for tap water, you must ask the water company to do it; if it is well water drawn at home, it is recommended not to drink it first. You must find out the cause of the insects. General insecticides or disinfectants are only for the well water at that time, and cannot guarantee that they will not appear again in the future. If you do the above three points, the well water will definitely be clean and there will be no small red worms.

6. How to deal with red worms that appear in sewage treatment?

There is no need to solve this problem. In a sense, this phenomenon rarely occurs under normal operating conditions. If red nematodes do in fact breed, it means that the water quality is good and can allow organisms to grow and reproduce.

If you want to get rid of these red worms, you can kill them with disinfectant (chlorine dioxide) or flush them away with water.

7. How to deal with frozen red worms?

Frozen bloodworms must be thawed. Do not feed frozen bloodworms to fish for the sake of convenience. Because there may be some impurities and bacteria in the frozen ice, which will threaten the health of fish. At the same time, the temperature of the ice will also affect the fish.

We can prepare a basin and fill it with tap water. Then put the frozen red worms in to thaw. Do not pour hot water, place the basin in the sun or other warm places, and let it thaw naturally.

After thawing, use a small scoop to remove impurities and foreign objects in the basin for initial filtration. Then use chopsticks to stir the water in the basin, use the vortex to clean the remaining impurities and foreign objects, and then use the scoop to remove them.

After cleaning, pour out the remaining water in the basin, leaving the red worms. Then use a straw to take out some water from the fish tank, pour it into the basin, and soak the red worms. Then wait for two to three hours before feeding.

8. How to handle frozen bloodworms so that they can be safely fed to fish?

Frozen bloodworms need to be disinfected after thawing before they can be safely fed to fish

9. How to process red worms before feeding them to fish?

After you buy the red worms and place them in clean water for a day, you can feed them to fish.
