CATDOLL: What kind of medicine should be used for fireflies?

1. How to spray fireflies with pesticides?

Spraying with highly effective and low-toxic pyrethroid pesticides such as cyhalothrin, deltamethrin, cypermethrin, bifenthrin, pyrethrin, or cypermethrin is very effective, killing insects quickly and thoroughly, with a long control period, a short residual period, and a small amount of residue, without polluting the environment or harming human health. In 15 to 20 minutes after spraying, the insects fall to the ground and die.

2. What medicine are fireflies most afraid of?

Fireflies are afraid of insecticides such as cypermethrin or bifenthrin, but we should not prevent and control them because fireflies are beneficial insects. Firefly larvae like to eat snails, snails, slugs and other foods. After catching prey, they will first anesthetize it and then inject digestive fluid into its body to decompose the meat. Most adults only need to suck some nectar and dew. Therefore, from human standards, it is a beneficial insect, so we should not harm it.

3. What’s the fastest way to eliminate fireflies?

1. For repellent methods, you can use insect repellents, such as drugs such as Bichongling, which are low in toxicity, cheap, and will not kill fireflies. Spray Bichongling powder on the plants, or spray it on the plants after adding water.

2. If you don't use medicine to prevent it, you can use lime powder. Use slaked lime powder and sprinkle it evenly on the leaves, so that fireflies can't eat plants. It should be noted that quicklime powder cannot be used, otherwise, it will heat up after being exposed to water and may burn the crops.

3. If you cannot take protective or repellent measures, you can use killing methods. The simplest and least toxic method is to use household aerosol insecticide. Spray it once in the evening and morning every day to effectively kill and repel fireflies.

4. Can imidacloprid kill fireflies?

Imidacloprid can kill fireflies.

Imidacloprid is a pyridine insecticide with systemic, stomach poison, contact, antifeedant and repellent effects. It has a broad insecticide spectrum, high efficacy, long lasting effect and low residue. Its insecticidal mechanism is to act on the nicotinic acid acetylcholinesterase receptors of insects and interfere with the motor nervous system of pests. After the pests come into contact with the agent, the normal conduction of the central nervous system is blocked, causing them to be paralyzed and die. The drug has good rapid effect and has a high preventive effect one day after application. The efficacy is positively correlated with temperature. The higher the temperature, the better the insecticidal effect.

5. What to do if fireflies eat vegetables

You can protect the seedlings with a protective cover to prevent fireflies from eating them. You can cover the seedlings with a fresh-keeping bag, but be careful not to use an opaque plastic bag, otherwise the seedlings will die. In addition, there should be a certain amount of ventilation holes to prevent the seedlings from breathing poorly.

3. If there are many seedlings to be planted and they are raised in a centralized manner, you can consider covering them with film or gauze. It is recommended to use a silk screen, which is light-permeable and breathable, and can also dissipate heat to avoid the seedlings being killed by the sun when the temperature is high.

4. For the method of driving away fireflies, you can use insect repellents, such as drugs such as Bichongling, which are low in toxicity, cheap, and will not kill fireflies. Spray Bichongling powder on the seedlings, or spray it on the seedlings after adding water.
