1. What are the profits and costs of raising cicada monkeys?

The profit per mu is more than 10,000 yuan, calculated based on the market price of 50 yuan per catty. The total income of raising one mu of golden cicada is 15,000 yuan, and the profit return is the total income minus the cost investment, and the net profit is about 13,500 yuan. In general, the profit of raising one mu of golden cicada is very hot, and the profit margin is still huge. Golden cicada is a wild insect. As its nutritional value and medicinal value are further developed, the market demand for golden cicada is also increasing.

2. What are the techniques and benefits of growing cicada flowers?

Planting techniques and benefits of golden cicada flower:

From a biological point of view, golden cicada flower is a pathological phenomenon, that is, it is caused by mutation after the organism becomes sick. The economic and medicinal value of golden cicada flower is very high, so many people want to make money by planting golden cicada flower. So how to plant golden cicada flower? Let us learn about it together.

To grow cicada flowers, you must first feed cicadas. In other words, cicada flowers are the product of the pathological changes of the cicada pupa. Cicadas generally live in the middle of the forest and feed on various trees in the forest. In ancient China, cicadas can actually be used as medicine, so many people catch cicadas. To breed cicadas, we must first choose a place suitable for cicadas to live, and then choose the species of cicadas, and then we can breed them.

After a period of breeding, cicadas will naturally lay eggs. We need to manage the density of the cultivated cicadas. Generally, there are 500 male and female cicadas per acre, so that about 250,000 cicada eggs can be laid per acre. When the cicadas lay eggs, the environment should be kept quiet, which will increase the egg-laying amount and egg-laying efficiency.

The environment suitable for the growth of cicada flowers is generally an area with sunlight, high temperature and high humidity. In this environment, cicadas can grow well. Therefore, if we plant cicada flowers, we usually choose warm and rainy areas. Then when the cicadas become pupae, they will be invaded by grass and then grow mycelium.

4. Growth period

The cicada flower grows in the cicada pupa in the early stage of its growth. Its growth mainly depends on the nutrients in the cicada pupa. It will continue to absorb until the nutrients in the cicada are completely absorbed. Then in spring, the cicada flower will break out of the ground and needs to rely on external nutrients to grow, so we must provide it with sufficient nutrients to make it bloom. At the same time, the cicada after unearthed needs to be prevented from diseases and pests. Generally, the most common ones are ants and red flower bugs, which need to be prevented with strong ammonia.

5. Harvesting and processing

Harvesting is generally quite simple. After the cicada flowers bloom, they can be harvested when all the petals are open. Generally, the cicada flowers are harvested together with the underground cicada pupae, and then dried in the sun or in an oven, and finally packaged.

Cost and benefit analysis of breeding golden cicada

Golden cicada is a high-protein, low-fat wild insect with extremely high medicinal nutritional value and unique taste. It will become an important green health food in the future and will also become a longevity food for humans in the future.

Due to environmental destruction and the felling of trees, their living environment has been severely damaged. Coupled with the indiscriminate hunting by humans, the cicada resources have been seriously depleted, the output has dropped sharply year by year, and the market gap is huge. It has become an urgent task to carry out artificial large-scale breeding.

At present, cicada breeding mainly uses the open space under the fruit trees, and a small investment can create a big business. Compared with the traditional breeding industry, it has obvious advantages such as small investment and large returns. Now, taking one person managing a 10-acre cicada farm as an example, the following benefit analysis is made (the breeding method is implemented according to our newly invented patented technology):

Artificially cultivated golden cicadas climb trees

(1) Investment. First, the investment in egg planting: generally, 2,000 egg branches are planted per mu, and the purchase price of each branch is 0.5 yuan in the off-season, so 1,000 yuan is required for 1 mu of egg planting; second, the investment in labor, 300 yuan per mu for the annual placement of egg branches and management (Golden Cicadas do not need to be fed for epidemic prevention, which saves a lot of labor); third, the land rental fee is 700 yuan per mu; fourth, the cost of planting willow seedlings is 600 yuan per mu for 300 trees. All the seeds are collected by yourself during the harvest season, and no other investment is required. In total, 2,600 yuan is invested per mu.

High-density willow cicada forest

In this way, the total investment for 10 mu of land in the first year is 26,000 yuan (Note: if it is your own land, you can save 700 yuan in rent). In the second year, you need to invest 20,000 yuan plus the 26,000 yuan in the first year, a total of 46,000 yuan; in the third year, you need to invest another 20,000 yuan plus the investment in the first and second years, a total of 66,000 yuan (Note: After the second year, no investment is required for tree seeds, only egg seeds, land rent and labor costs).

(2) Profits. According to our new patented technology, the survival rate of young cicadas can reach 40%-60%, 20% will emerge in the second year, and more than 95% will emerge in the third year. Each egg branch contains an average of more than 100 cicada eggs. The survival rate is calculated as the lowest 40% (the survival rate in nature is 10%-15%). Each branch can produce 40 cicadas, and 2,000 egg branches can produce more than 80,000 cicadas (even if your technology is not so good, you can still produce about 60,000 cicadas).

The eggs are placed under the tree and hatched naturally

In 2017, the price of each golden cicada in our market was 0.6 yuan, so the income per mu was 48,000 yuan, and the income of 10 mu was more than 480,000 yuan (those with poor technology could earn more than 350,000 yuan). After deducting the three-year investment of 66,000 yuan, the net income was about 410,000 yuan, and the input-output ratio was more than 1:6 times. After three years, if the current price remains unchanged, the annual income can be more than 400,000 yuan, and the input-output ratio is 10-20 times (those with poor technology can also earn more than 8 times).

Young cicadas dug out from under a willow tree

In the second year, 20% of the golden cicadas unearthed can generate an income of 96,000 yuan. After deducting the total investment of 46,000 yuan in the second year, the net profit is 50,000 yuan (about 30,000 yuan for those with poor technology). This means that if the golden cicadas are raised according to the new technology, the cost can be recovered and a profit can be achieved in the second year. After three years, the golden cicada farm will enter a virtuous cycle, and the farm can save seeds and save money.

4. What are the methods and profits of breeding cicadas?

There are two situations when we breed cicadas. One is that there is a ready-made forest land for breeding cicadas, and the other is that we need to replant forest land to breed cicadas. If there is a ready-made forest land for breeding cicadas, the investment is relatively small. You only need to buy cicada egg branches, hatch them for a certain period of time, and then plant them. For breeding cicadas in existing forest land, the investment per acre is generally about 1,000-2,000 yuan. If you need to replant trees and then use them to breed cicadas, then the investment will be relatively large. To replant trees to breed cicadas, the investment per acre is generally at least 5,000 yuan.

How to breed cicadas in rural areas?

If you want to breed cicadas, you should plant bamboo willows, because bamboo willows have strong vitality and well-developed root systems, which are very suitable for breeding cicadas. If you want to breed them in existing forests, you should generally choose poplar forests, after all, there are many poplar forests in our rural areas.

Breeding cicadas is actually quite simple, mainly consisting of the following steps:

First, cicada egg branches are collected from September to November each year, and then stored until March to June of the following year for hatching. You can also directly purchase cicada egg branches online for hatching.

The branches for hatching cicada eggs are from March to June every year, and the most suitable for hatching cicada eggs are from May to June. After all, the average temperature in these two months is between 28 and 34 degrees Celsius, which is exactly the temperature at which cicadas hatch the fastest.

When there are little cicadas on the cicada egg branches, we need to transfer the cicada egg branches to the cicada breeding forest for planting. It is best to complete the planting before July every year. After all, starting from July every year, the temperature will get higher and higher, and the high temperature and scorching sun will easily kill the newly hatched cicadas. In addition, starting from July every year, it is the time for us to catch mature nymphs of cicadas, and it is easy to step on the newly hatched little cicadas.

During the period of cicada breeding, we must avoid drought, waterlogging, pesticide residues, and natural enemies of cicadas in the cicada breeding forest. In particular, we must not allow waterlogging to occur in the cicada breeding forest, because water will penetrate into the ground and drown the cicadas underground.

The cicada needs to grow underground for at least three years before it can come out of the ground in the summer three years later. At this time, we need to catch the mature nymphs of the cicada that come out of the ground at night.

How profitable is it to breed cicadas?

The market for golden cicadas is not very clear this year. After all, it is not clear whether golden cicadas can be traded this year. So I can only calculate the profit of breeding golden cicadas based on the data of 2019.

At present, one mu of cicada breeding forest land can generally produce at least 150 kilograms of mature cicada nymphs per year. Based on the 2019 price of 0.5 yuan per cicada, there are about 100 to 110 cicadas per kilogram. In other words, one kilogram of cicadas can be sold for about 50 to 55 yuan in 2019. Therefore, one mu of land for breeding cicadas can basically generate a gross income of 7,500 yuan.

After deducting various expenses, the net income from raising cicadas per mu of land is about 5,000 yuan. This is just a conservative calculation, because 150 kilograms of mature cicada nymphs per mu of land is considered a low yield. In addition, the trees in the cicada breeding forest are also a good source of income.
