CATDOLL: Using cockroaches to treat food waste (the benefits of using cockroaches to treat food waste)

1. Join Li Yanrong's cockroach factory?

Li Yanrong's cockroach factory is not open to franchisees. Li Yanrong's "cockroach factory" processes kitchen waste, which is the most basic function of Li Yanrong's cockroach breeding. Kitchen waste is very difficult to handle. It cannot be burned and is very easy to pollute the land and groundwater when landfilled. Therefore, the Zhangqiu Sanitation Center is very happy that Li Yanrong's cockroaches can solve this problem. They collect and transport raw materials for Li Yanrong for free. In 2016, the Zhangqiu District Food Waste Treatment Center in Jinan was established. The center quickly got on track, and each breeding and production link was automated, and cockroaches reproduced faster and faster. By mid-2018, this cockroach factory could eat fifty tons of kitchen waste every day. So far, Li Yanrong's cockroach factory has achieved great success.

2. Is it legal to breed cockroaches?

legitimate.

Cockroaches are raised to eat garbage. It is reported that 300 million cockroaches can eat 15 tons of food waste every day, creating a new model for domestic garbage disposal.

The piles of food waste in the warehouse are first transported to the conveyor belt by the staff's homemade pulping machine, crushed and beaten into pulp, and then transported along the conveying pipeline to the large cockroach breeding room next door. The breeding room is a fully enclosed environment, and through the glass, you can see densely packed cockroaches eating the crushed food waste.

3. Which is better for handling food waste: black soldier flies or cockroaches?

Black soldier flies are better than cockroaches at dealing with food waste, faster and more thoroughly

4. Why does a district in Jinan raise 300 million cockroaches?

Hidden in a field in the southwest of Zhangqiu District, Jinan City, there is a square building covering an area of 90 acres. In the building, there is a group of special residents - 300 million cockroaches of the American cockroach species.

This is the Zhangqiu City Food Waste Treatment Center. 300 million cockroaches can eat 15 tons of food waste every day, creating a new model for domestic waste treatment. On July 18, reporters saw at the Zhangqiu Food Waste Treatment Center that the piles of food waste in the warehouse were first transported to the conveyor belt by the staff's homemade pulping machine. After being crushed and beaten into pulp, they were transported to the large cockroach breeding room next door along the conveyor pipe. The breeding room is a fully enclosed environment. Through the glass, you can see densely packed cockroaches eating the crushed food waste. Li Yanrong, chairman of Shandong Qiaobin Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that 300 tons and 300 million cockroaches were raised in this breeding room. The cockroach species is American cockroaches, which are large, eat a lot, and have strong processing capabilities. They can "eat" 15 tons of food waste every day. And each farmed cockroach will continue to produce egg cases during its 11-month life cycle. At the same time, cockroaches naturally age and die, and these will be transported to the drying room for drying, crushing, and finally made into cockroach powder as insect protein feed for chickens, pigs, etc. "Compared with the air and water pollution that may be caused by the original landfill treatment, cockroaches eat this kind of biological organic treatment, which follows the basic law of the food chain and enters the circulation system. It can be said that there is zero pollution and the real meaning of turning waste into treasure. This is a great innovation and breakthrough in the field of environmental protection, food safety, and the breeding industry." Li Yanrong said. He introduced that in addition to social benefits, this model also has great economic benefits. Insect protein is called "soft gold" in the breeding industry. On average, 1 ton of insect protein feed can be obtained for every 15 tons of food waste, and the current market price of this feed is 12,000 to 15,000 yuan per ton. It is understood that Zhangqiu is currently building a new breeding base with an annual output of 4,000 tons of insect protein feed. After it is put into use, it can process 200 tons of food waste per day. Before the classification of domestic waste in Jinan, it can "eat" all the food waste in Zhangqiu District, Licheng District, and High-tech Zone of Jinan City.

5. Why are cockroaches called nature’s scavengers?

Answer: Because cockroaches eat everything.

The Zhangqiu District Food Waste Treatment Center in Jinan City, Shandong Province, raises 300 tons of "American cockroaches" with a total of 300 million cockroaches, which can eat a total of 15 tons of food waste every day. Now, this biological method of "cockroaches eating garbage" to treat garbage harmlessly has caused heated discussions.

Using cockroaches to eat garbage means letting cockroaches act as "scavengers" to help people clean and clear garbage. This method seems to be the first of its kind in the world. It is a government cooperation project locally and has obtained land and financial support from the local government.
