It does not have high requirements for water quality and can survive in deep or shallow water, flowing or still water, and can even survive in extremely harsh environments such as sewers and septic tanks.

2. Benthic: The mudskipper is a benthic fish that likes to live in rock crevices, deep pits, soil holes or stone holes at the bottom of tree roots near the shore, and waters with slow flow. In still waters such as reservoirs, ponds, and lakes, it often lies in the dark bottom or under patches of aquatic plants.

3. Carnivorous: The mudskipper is a carnivorous fish with a ferocious nature. It mainly feeds on small fish, shrimps, aquatic insects, etc. It also preys on frogs and insects such as dragonflies, grasshoppers, butterflies, etc. that live on water plants. Sometimes it even preys on small animals such as wild mice drinking water by the water.

4. Nocturnal: The mudskipper is a nocturnal fish. It is afraid of light and likes darkness. It hides during the day and comes out at night. Its visual function has degenerated and its eyeballs have become very small. It hides in the grass, under rocks, under tree roots or in deep water at the bottom of the river during the day. It frequently forages for food at night, relying entirely on its sense of smell and tentacles to hunt.
