Are eels a protected species?Eels are not protected animals. Eel is an animal of the genus Anguilla in the family Anguilla. Also known as white eel, white eel, river eel, and eel. From the category point of view, eels belong to the class of bony fish, which is a type of bony fish. They also belong to the order Anguilla and the family Anguilla. From the appearance point of view, the body shape of eels is very special, which is different from most other fish. Overall, their shape is similar to that of snakes, and they have no fish scales. They are a relatively special fish. Distribution: Eels are mainly distributed in the Yangtze River, Minjiang River, Pearl River basins, Hainan Island and rivers, lakes and reservoirs in my country. Eels around the world mainly grow in tropical and temperate waters. Except for the European eel and American eel which are distributed in the Atlantic Ocean, the rest are distributed in the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean ridges. Is eel a saltwater fish? From the perspective of the living environment of fish, fish can be divided into freshwater fish and marine fish. Among them, those living in freshwater environments are freshwater fish, and those living in seawater are marine fish. The difference between the two types of fish is still relatively large. However, eels are a relatively special type of fish and cannot be classified as one of them. Because some eels have the habit of migratory migration. In other words, their living environment will change. When eels are young, they live in freshwater and can be said to be a freshwater fish. When they mature, they will reproduce in the ocean, and from this aspect, they can be regarded as a marine fish. In terms of diet, eels mainly feed on various animals in the water, so they are carnivorous fish. They can eat a variety of animals in the water, such as small fish, shrimps, crabs, and various aquatic insects. As they grow, their predation ability will also increase, and they can eat more types of food. In terms of body size, eels are not particularly large. The length of wild eels is between 60-90 cm, and there are also more than 1 meter, but they are relatively rare; artificially raised eels are smaller, and the body length may be only 40 to 50 cm. The body length of the eel fry is about 6 cm and the weight is 0.1 gram. However, it has a narrow head and a tall, thin and transparent body like a leaf, so it is called "willow leaf fish". Its body fluid is almost the same as seawater, so it can be easily transported over long distances with the ocean current. It takes about half a year for it to drift back to the Kuroshio warm current from the spawning ground and then flow back to the seaside. It will only start to metamorphose into a thin and transparent eel line one month before arriving at the shore, also known as a glass fish. Therefore, from December to January every year, fishermen will be busy using hand fork nets to catch eels that are about to go upstream on the coast near the estuary and sell them to farmers. After the farmers buy them back and release them, the colors will gradually appear, turning into yellow juvenile eels and silver adult eels. |
