Key points and methods of yellow frog breeding technologyThe yellow frog, also known as the yellow crook, yellow toad, and oily toad, is scientifically called the forest frog. It is an amphibian with extremely high economic value, a famous tonic and health food, and a precious frog species that can be used as both food and medicine . At the National Forest Frog Conference, the China Wildlife Conservation Association, the State Forestry Administration's Animal and Plant Conservation Office, the Northeast Forestry Department's Animal Conservation Office, and the National Forest Frog Professional Committee all attended the conference. As a wild animal, the forest frog is only a general protected animal, not a key protected animal. The National Forest Frog Professional Association and the Forest Frog Forum encourage and advocate artificial breeding in suitable areas of forest areas. So what are the key points and methods of yellow frog breeding technology? 1. Prevent escape and enemy There are two ways to prevent escape, namely, a "ge"-shaped fence or wall with 20 meshes (thickened) and a height of more than 1.2 meters. The role of the "ge"-shaped fence is to prevent the forest frog from escaping and to prevent foreign invasion. The main enemies are snakes, mice, flying birds, weasels, toads, frogs, beetles and the parents of the forest frog. Among them, there is a kind of beetle that is as big and shaped as a "fart bug". Its larvae are maggot-shaped, flat and round, with inconspicuous red and black spots on the back. It rarely occurs, but once it occurs, it is extremely harmful and bites the lower part of the frog's throat. (Prevention and control methods: ① After the farm is built, use quicklime, trichlorfon, and bleaching powder to thoroughly disinfect. ②, use dimethoate to kill or artificially capture during feeding). Secondly, the site needs to be covered with a large mesh that sparrows cannot drill into, and closed breeding is carried out to prevent bird damage. 2. Protect Yin and Moisturize As the name implies, Chinese forest frogs must live in the shade of trees, so an artificial ecological environment must be created. Since trees cannot quickly form shade, the emergency method is to plant 2-meter-high wooden stakes, bamboo poles, small cement pillars or iron pipes in the breeding farm, pull them together with iron wires, plant good-quality grapes, and then plant climbing plants such as loofah, pumpkin, gourd, cowpea, etc. to shade the ground, so that the sun does not shine directly on the ground. Secondly, in the breeding range, except for the hatching and wintering pools, 50-60 cm high lake mulberry seedlings, or other flowers, trees, Chinese medicinal materials, shrubs, and even vegetables and other green plants should be planted on the land. Calculated at 2,000 plants per mu. In summer and autumn, when the temperature is high and the soil surface is dry, use a backpack sprayer to spray (mist) water to keep it moist and cool. A large area can be equipped with a rotary sprinkler, and the surface temperature is best controlled within 30°C. The middle ground of each site should be slightly higher than the surrounding area, and the water permeability should be good. 3. Adequate live bait The main food source of Chinese forest frogs is insects attracted by lighting lamps, but artificial breeding density is high and the number is large, so artificial breeding of live bait is necessary to supplement feeding. Therefore, about 50% of the energy of artificial breeding of Chinese forest frogs is used for the breeding of live baits - mealworms. Otherwise, spending money to buy them will greatly increase the cost. For example, Daping No. 2 red earthworms (when adult frogs eat larger earthworms), mealworms (mealworms), maggots and ants sold in flower and bird markets. Two keys: 1. "Raising young": During the entire process of breeding and raising forest frogs, one month after the tadpoles metamorphose into young frogs, because the young frogs are small in size and have poor ability to hunt and escape enemies, they must be fed with live bait that is correspondingly small. Ants are placed on the higher ground in the breeding farm and allowed to enter and exit freely. If conditions permit, buy a few silkworm egg papers and hatch the silkworm eggs on the 30th day from the time the forest frogs lay eggs. After raising them at home for a week, use chicken feathers to sweep them to the mulberry trees in the farm, let the young silkworms grow wild, and let the young frogs eat them. The basic bait for cultivating maggots can be mixed with soaked bean cakes, rapeseed cakes, bran, pig, pigeon manure, animal blood, and water, and placed in buckets, tanks or pools to cultivate maggots. This kind of maggot is called soft-headed maggots; on the contrary, hard-headed maggots in bones, fish bones and other animal carcasses cannot be used. The feeding time for young frogs is before 8 am and after 3 pm. Mealworms are afraid of moisture and water, so they should be fed before watering. Other feeds can be fed at any time as needed. If the one-month rearing goes smoothly, the breeding of forest frogs will be half successful. 2. "Heat protection and moisture retention": The most suitable growth temperature for wood frogs is 25-30℃; the temperature limit is 35℃. The natural ecological environment of green plants, shading is the most ideal guarantee for cooling and constant temperature, followed by using shading nets, well water, and tap water spraying for cooling. |
