Cryptocaryon irritans, commonly known as marine Ichthyophthirius or white spot disease of marine fish, is a fatal parasitic disease of marine bony fish. The main symptom is the appearance of a large number of small white spots on the gills, eyes and skin of the diseased fish. It is a serious threat to marine fish. Cryptocaryon irritans is a common parasite in marine fish and can infect almost all types of marine fish. In southern my country, it mainly harms marine fish such as grouper, large yellow croaker, ovate trembling pomfret, and cobra.
