CATDOLL: How are shrimps raised?

Breeding method.

The prawns are bred in freshwater and cultured in seawater. They are named after the fact that they are cultured in embankments. The embankments refer to the fields around the coast of Guangdong. In order to avoid floods, embankments were built around the fields. The embankments were called embankments. Some shrimps like to follow the direction of the tide and swim to the gentle area under the embankment to lay eggs, so they are called prawns.

In the early days, the shrimps raised in the mud pits were mainly Penaeus lanceolatus, so it was considered the most authentic mud pit shrimp. Later, Penaeus lanceolatus and Penaeus japonicus were also called mud pit shrimps.

Tips for raising shrimp

1. Construction of ponds: When building ponds, you should choose a place with sufficient water source, good water quality and convenient drainage. The area of the shrimp pond should be more than 2 mu, and an independent water inlet and outlet channel should be set up. The injected water should be filtered, and circular ditches and diagonal ditches should be dug at the bottom of the pond to ensure the safe wintering of the shrimp.

2. Desalination of shrimp fry: Generally, shrimp fry are cultured in seawater, so the shrimp fry need to be desalinated. The desalination degree must meet the pond standard, and then they can be directly moved into fresh water for breeding. The whole desalination process takes more than 2 days.

3. Water quality management: The water quality must be alkaline and have a high dissolved oxygen content. The water color should be yellow-green. If the water is turbid, water should be added from time to time to improve the water environment. High water levels must be maintained in summer.
