CATDOLL: How many years does the golden coin turtle lay eggs?

The egg-laying period of the golden coin turtle is generally 10 years. Artificially fed golden coin turtles generally begin to lay eggs after sexual maturity at 4 years old. Things to note during the egg-laying period:

1. Feeding

During the egg-laying period of stone turtles, it is important to pay attention to calcium supplementation to avoid soft shells of turtle eggs due to calcium deficiency.

Recommended diet: Fresh shrimp, minced fish paste with fish bones, pellet feed, plantains

Feeding method: Fresh shrimp/fish paste - pellet feed - banana

Feeding frequency: 2 times a day

Note: Do not overfeed. The total amount of bait should be 70% of the normal feeding amount and should be finished within half an hour.

Overfeeding breeding turtles can easily lead to laziness, which is not conducive to egg laying.

2. Water Quality

Try not to change the water during the stone turtle's egg-laying period to avoid excessive movement of the breeding turtle when changing the water, which may cause premature laying, soft eggs and rotten eggs. When changing the water, you can change 1/3.

The pH value should be maintained at 6.8-7.6. Farmers with conditions can use spraying or keeping the pool water active to extend the water change time.

3. Environment

During the egg-laying period of stone turtles, try to keep the environment quiet and reduce noise. When the noise is too loud, the breeding turtles may be frightened and give birth prematurely or lay soft-shelled eggs.

Try to increase the greening around the turtle breeding pond to create a simulated wild environment.

Breeding turtles can generate income from the sale of turtle seedlings every year. The egg-laying period of breeding turtles can be as short as a few decades or as long as hundreds of years, which can bring stable and considerable income to breeders every year. It is "one year investment, a hundred years of benefit".
