CATDOLL : Can cats eat yogurt?

Can cats drink human yogurt?

Cats can drink yogurt.

Yogurt is mainly made by fermenting milk and probiotics. Eating yogurt is helpful to the cat's intestines.

When choosing yogurt, try to choose plain yogurt. It is not recommended to feed it flavored yogurt or yogurt with added tropical fruits and nuts. Fruits and nuts are likely to be indigestible and will increase the gastrointestinal burden on the cat, leading to food allergies or food intolerance.

It is not recommended to feed yogurt to kittens under two months old, because the intestines of kittens are not fully developed and they are just transitioning from breast milk to independent feeding. Eating yogurt at this time can easily cause diarrhea.

If your cat is trying yogurt for the first time, gradually increase the amount from a small amount to a larger amount, and do not feed more than two cups of yogurt a day.
