Things to note when buying a cat litter box:

1. The size of the litter box should be twice the length of the cat. If it is a closed litter box, you should also pay attention to the height to ensure that the cat has enough space to move around in the litter box.

2. It is best not to choose stainless steel or glass materials, because cats' claws will scratch the litter box when they dig the litter. If it is made of stainless steel, it will easily make a harsh sound and scare the cat.

3. When choosing a cat litter box, you should also consider the type of cat litter. A single-layer cat litter box is suitable for bentonite cat litter and tofu cat litter, while crystal cat litter and zeolite cat litter require a double-layer cat litter box.

Types of cat litter boxes:

1. Open cat litter box. It is a more common cat litter box that can meet the basic needs of cats and will not make cats feel constrained when using it, but it also deprives cats of privacy and makes it easy for cat litter to be dug out.

2. Semi-enclosed cat litter box. It is higher than the open cat litter box and can play a shielding role to prevent the cat from digging the cat litter outside.

3. Closed cat litter box. Usually there is an entrance and exit, on the top or side, which is suitable for cats who are shy and don't like to be disturbed when going to the toilet. It can effectively prevent cat litter from being taken out and prevent the spread of odor. But don't choose one that is too small, otherwise the cat will not be able to move freely.

4. Single-layer and double-layer cat litter boxes. Single-layer cat litter boxes are suitable for types of sand that condenses when exposed to water, such as mineral sand, paper sand, condensed sawdust litter, tofu litter, etc., which need to be cleaned frequently, otherwise bacteria will breed. Double-layer cat litter boxes are suitable for types of litter that do not clump when exposed to urine, such as sawdust litter and crystal litter. Cat litter is placed on the upper layer and absorbent urine pads are placed on the lower layer, which will not allow excrement to accumulate in the basin and produce odor and bacteria.

5. Automatic cat litter box. There are two types: fully automatic and semi-automatic. Semi-automatic cat litter box requires manual cleaning, while fully automatic cat litter box can be cleaned automatically at regular intervals, which is more convenient, but the price will be very expensive, and special cat litter box is also required.
