It’s not difficult to get your cat to take a bath

How to get your cat to take a bath:

1. Let the cat get familiar with the bathroom environment in advance, so that the cat knows that this place is not threatening to itself, and it will be relatively docile when taking a bath. Let the cat explore the bathroom 1-3 days before bathing, and give the cat its favorite snacks when preparing for bathing.

2. Let the cat get used to the sound of water. Bring the cat in front of the water and try to let the cat touch it. In the process, let the cat adapt to the sound of the water. Observe the cat's reaction. Try it several times to let the cat slowly accept the water.

3. Be careful to prevent water from entering the cat's ears and eyes, as this will cause a certain degree of irritation to the cat. The cat will feel uncomfortable and will naturally try to break free. Do not be too rough, and also avoid damaging the cat's hearing and vision.

4. Pour warm water into the basin. The water temperature should be around 40 degrees and the water depth should be 1-2 centimeters. Do not pour too much water. Then put the cat in the basin. If the bottom of the basin is too smooth, you can put a towel at the bottom of the basin. This will make the cat feel more secure and relax.

5. Cats may be afraid of the sound of hair dryers. You can put the cat in a cage and use a hair dryer to dry it outside. If the cat is too resistant to the hair dryer, do not force it to use the hair dryer. Avoid bathing the cat in winter or when the indoor temperature is too low, otherwise the cat will easily catch a cold, unless there is heating.

Things to note when bathing your cat:

1. Do not bathe your cat when it is unwell or sick to avoid catching a cold and worsening the condition.

2. Do not bathe newly weaned kittens because they have just left their mother and their resistance is relatively weak, making them prone to illness.

3. Kittens under 6 months old should not be bathed frequently as they are prone to getting sick.

4. Do not bathe your cat within 2 weeks after vaccination, because the cat may have local or systemic reactions after vaccination, and bathing may cause other diseases.

5. Do not bathe the female cat in the late stages of pregnancy to avoid miscarriage.

6. After bathing in summer, do not expose the cat to the hot sun to avoid heatstroke.

7. After taking a bath in winter, be sure to keep warm in time to prevent illness.

8. Don’t bathe too often. The elasticity of a cat’s skin and the luster of its fur are maintained by sebum. Bathing too often will cause a large amount of sebum to be lost, resulting in reduced skin elasticity, making it more susceptible to skin diseases, and making the fur rough and easy to break. Generally, indoor cats should be bathed twice a month, and outdoor cats should be bathed once a month.
