What are the three changes of a cat's eyes in a day?

A cat's eyes change three times a day: in the morning, they are like a date pit, at noon, they become a line, and at night, they are like a full moon. The reason for this phenomenon is that cats' pupils are very large and change with the intensity of light. In addition, their pupils have "sphincters" that have a strong contraction ability and can shrink from a full circle to a line. The stronger the light, the thinner the cat's pupils will be; the weaker the light, the rounder the pupils will be. In the morning, the intensity of sunlight is average, and the cat's eyes appear in the shape of a date pit. At noon, the sunlight is strong, and the cat's pupils shrink into a line. At night, when the light is weak, the cat's eyes become round.

In addition, the cat's emotions will also affect the size of the pupils. When the cat is relaxed and bored, the pupils will shrink into a line or an oval shape; when the cat is excited or fearful, the pupils will expand into a circle.

Cat's eye color:

1. Cats' eyes have various colors such as blue, green, yellow, and brown. These colors are mainly determined by the iris, and there is a transition relationship between the colors without a clear boundary. The iris is the colored part around the pupil. This part is mainly composed of sphincter muscles, which control the amount of light passing through like the aperture of a camera.

2. The cat's iris is divided into two layers. The outer layer is the matrix, where cells are arranged loosely, and the lower layer is the epithelial tissue where cells are arranged tightly. Both layers contain cells that can produce pigments, but the number is different.

The color of the iris is determined by these pigment cells. The number and activity of different cells determine the color difference of the cat's iris. If there are no pigment cells, the cat's eyes will look blue; if there are fewer pigment cells, the cat's eyes will look green; if there are more pigment cells, the cat's eyes will look yellow or brown.
