Guangxi, yellow throat, Ai's The name of the turtle was given by Pritchardhe and McCord in 1991 based on the specimens collected by Oscar Shiu, a Hong Kong animal dealer, in Nanping, Fujian. The name "Shiu" is taken from the transliteration of John B. Iversoni. In the market, the turtle is often confused with the yellow-throated turtle and sold together. The carapace length of the male is 189mm, and the female is 193mm. The carapace is triangular, with obvious ridges. The dorsal and ventral carapaces are connected by a suture, and the ventral carapace is shorter than the dorsal carapace; the laryngeal shield is prominent, and the front center is concave; the anal shield has a deep notch at the rear end; the pectoral shield suture is the longest and almost equal to the ventral shield suture, and the humeral shield suture is the shortest. There are full webs between the fingers and toes. There are seven cone plates, the first vertebral plate is quadrilateral; the 2nd to 4th vertebral plates are hexagonal, with the short side at the back; the 5th and 6th vertebral plates are pentagonal, and the 7th vertebral plate is hexagonal, with the short side at the front; the inner plate is medium-sized, and the humerus-thoracic shield suture is transversely cut at the rear quarter. The difference between the three types of aquatic turtles: 1. Look at the individual: Guangxi pond turtle individual (larger than) Ai's pond turtle and yellow-throated pond turtle. 2. Look at the color: The top of the head of the Guangxi turtle is olive yellow-brown with scattered black spots; the heads of the Ai’s turtle and the yellow-throated turtle are light blue without black spots; local farmers call Ai’s turtle the big green-headed turtle and the yellow-throated turtle the small green-headed turtle. The head color of the hybrid turtle is similar to that of the Guangxi turtle when it is a hatchling, and gradually turns light blue as it grows up. 3. Look at the eyes: The eyeballs of the Guangxi turtle, Ehrlich's turtle and the yellow-throated turtle are all black; there are small black spots on the corneas on both sides of the Guangxi turtle's eyeballs, and the eyes look like there is a black line; Ehrlich's turtle and the yellow-throated turtle only have a black spot in the eyes; but the hatchlings and adult turtles that are hybridized with the Guangxi turtle all have a black line in their eyes, just like the Guangxi turtle. 4. Look at the limbs: The limbs of the Guangxi pond turtle are dark brown; the limbs of the Ai's pond turtle and the yellow-throated pond turtle are gray-brown on the upper part and light yellow on the lower part. 5. Look at the black spots: The plastron of the Guangxi turtle is light blue with two black vertical and white stripes. The black spots are large and complete, and the bridge of the carapace is completely black; the black spots of the Ai's turtle are radial; the black spots of the yellow-throated turtle are smaller. 6. Look at the ridge: The ridge of the Guangxi turtle is prominent, with a black ridge running from the nuchal shield to the anal shield; the Ai's turtle and the yellow-throated turtle have no prominent black ridge; the black line on the ridge of the hybrid turtle is intermittent and discontinuous, the ridge of the adult turtle is not prominent, and the carapace is smooth.
