Water quality management: As a marine organism, eels cannot live without high-quality water environment. It is recommended to breed them near Haikou. In order to restore the marine environment to the maximum extent, a special breeding ground is usually built at the breeding site. The water temperature is required to be maintained between 8℃ and 30℃. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to the speed of the water flow not being too fast, which can easily disperse the fish. In addition, oxygen pipes can be placed in the breeding area to ensure that there is enough oxygen in the water to support their activities.

2.

Breeding density: Breeding density needs to be adjusted according to the species of eels. Generally, if it is small eels, about 120 eels can be placed in one square meter. During the breeding process, it is also necessary to pay extra attention to the growth of eels. Weaker ones can be separated and carefully cared for to avoid the law of the jungle.

3.

Disinfection: Disinfection is an important task in the eel farming process, which can be roughly divided into three stages: first, before stocking, the fry need to be disinfected in order to remove the various bacteria carried by the fry; second, before harvesting, the seawater in the breeding area is disinfected, mainly to remove the bacteria bred by the impurities left over during the breeding process; finally, disinfection is carried out again after harvesting to facilitate the next fish farming and to avoid polluting the seawater.

Feeding: Eels are carnivorous fish that mainly feed on small fish, shrimps, crabs, earthworms and other animal foods. After reaching sexual maturity, the digestive organs of adult eels will gradually atrophy and they will stop eating. There is no need to worry about this, as they will eat independently after laying eggs.

What is the correct way to raise eels in a fish tank?

To raise river eels at home, you must first prepare a container of appropriate size, disinfect it thoroughly, and then inject an appropriate amount of water. River eels usually live in the sea area where fresh and salt water meet, so the water for breeding should be carefully prepared light salt water, and tap water cannot be used directly.

River eels have high requirements for water quality. The water temperature must be controlled at around 8-38 degrees, and the pH value in the water must be controlled at 6.0-9.0. At the same time, oxygen must be added to the water. When there is a lack of oxygen, the organic matter in the water will produce a large amount of toxic gases, which will cause great harm to the eels.

River eel is an animal that likes darkness and is afraid of light. The best feeding time is around 5 o'clock in the morning and 8 o'clock in the evening. The feed can be earthworms, snail meat, small fish, shrimps, etc. Adding some antibiotics in appropriate amounts can improve the resistance of river eels.

Eels get 80% of their oxygen from the air, and they take large gulps of air every 10 minutes or so. So I pay special attention to keeping enough oxygen, and of course, air circulation at the surface of the fish tank is especially important.

How many eels can be farmed per acre?

Freshwater eels are raised with 7,000 fry per mu. Generally, about 7,000 eels weighing 50 grams can be raised per mu of pond. In addition, a small number of filter-feeding or bottom-dwelling omnivorous fish such as silver carp, bighead carp, carp, crucian carp, etc. can be appropriately raised. This can not only achieve the purpose of keeping the water fresh, but also improve the production efficiency per unit area of the eel pond.

Generally, 2000-3000 eels weighing 5-20 grams are stocked per acre, and
