CATDOLL: How to raise hairy crabs at home

1. How to raise hairy crabs at home

1. Keep the crabs in a sink. If you need to keep the crabs for 3-5 days, you can use a deeper sink or a larger and deeper plastic bucket at home. First, gently pick up the crabs and put them in a sink or other container, and put them in clean water (it is recommended to dry the tap water for 2 hours). The water should not be too deep, so that the crabs can stand up and breathe on the water surface. If the storage time is long, it is recommended to put a small amount of small fish and shrimp in the water.

2. Plastic bucket enclosure. Use a 30-50cm high plastic bucket/basin and place the hairy crabs flat in it. Be careful not to let the crabs overlap. Then add water to half the height of the hairy crabs. Remember that the water depth should not be deep enough to cover the hairy crabs. Do not cover the bucket or basin and place it in a ventilated and cool place.

.

3. Store in the refrigerator. Choose hairy crabs with vigor and vitality, and tie up their legs to reduce their physical consumption. Choose hairy crabs with less vitality to eat every day, and keep hairy crabs with more vitality. Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 5-10 degrees. Cover the crab with a wet towel to keep the humidity appropriate.

2. Crab breeding technology and methods How to breed crabs

1. Pond conditions. The water depth of the pond is maintained at about 0.6-1.5 meters all year round. The water depth varies from place to place, with the shallowest being 10 cm. Several mounds slightly above the water surface can be built in the pond, namely crab islands, where aquatic plants can be transplanted. The pond should not be too steep, with a slope ratio generally below 1:1.5. Artificial caves can also be built. Generally, quicklime is used to clean and disinfect the pond half a month before stocking, with a dosage of 75 kg per mu.

2. Transplant aquatic plants. The main types of aquatic plants include duckweed, water hyacinth, water hyacinth, water hyacinth, water hydrilla, hornwort, water peanut, etc. Pay attention to disinfection and pest prevention when transplanting. Anti-escape facilities are mostly made of plastic film, and cement boards are also used, depending on the respective situation.

3. Stocking density. The seedlings purchased from other places cannot be directly put into the pond. They should be soaked in water for 2-3 minutes, taken out and placed for 10 minutes, and repeated 2-3 times. After the young crabs gradually absorb enough water and adapt to the water temperature, they can be put into the pond to improve the survival rate. The density can be controlled within 1,500 crabs/mu, with a specification of 120-150 crabs/kg. If the conditions are poor or shrimp farming is the main purpose, the stocking amount can be appropriately reduced.

4. Feeding management: The feeding method for crabs is the same as that for fish farming in ponds, which requires "four considerations and four determinations", that is, the season, weather, water quality, and crab activity, and the feeding should be done at a fixed time, fixed location, fixed quality, and fixed quantity.

3. How to feed hairy crabs?

The correct way to raise crabs

1. Use a basin to raise crabs at home. Put some fine sand in the basin to form a small platform. The water should not be too deep. The best water depth is that the water steel can immerse the crab shell. Tap water can be used for raising crabs, but it must be exposed to the sun for a day before use.

2. Crabs can bask in the sun, but not for too long.

3. Crabs are omnivorous animals. If conditions permit, you can feed them red nematodes and egg yolks. Of course, crabs can also eat chicken and duck viscera or small fish and shrimp. At the same time, you should feed them some grass food. Pay attention to the amount of food you eat. You should finish eating within half an hour, otherwise the remaining food will pollute the water.

4. The feeding intensity of crabs increases or decreases with the change of seasons and water temperature. In summer and autumn, when the water temperature rises above 15℃, the feeding capacity of crabs increases, and they can be fed once a day. When the water temperature drops below 15℃, the feeding capacity of crabs decreases, and they can be fed every other day or every few days. The best time to feed is around dusk, because crabs are aquatic animals that hide during the day and come out at night.

5. Crabs are social animals, so it is best to raise several crabs together, so that the survival rate is higher.

6. When cleaning crabs, hold them with your hands, and then use a toothbrush with some shower gel or soap to clean them, especially in the corners, and hold their feet (not too hard). Rinse with water after bathing, and wash the fish tank, and occasionally sprinkle some salt, mainly to prevent infectious diseases.

7. When crabs first arrive in a strange environment, they are very stubborn. Starve them for a few days, then use tweezers to pick up a delicious food and dangle it in front of their mouths. Then you will see them wolfing down the food.
