Let’s take a look at the experience of breeding earthworms. My family has been raising earthworms for a year. I want to share my experience with you in this big family of anglers. If you want to do something well, you must understand it and study it. First, let me introduce earthworms to you: Earthworms are omnivores, with male and female worms living in the same body, but hatching through cross-breeding. Earthworms generally like to live in warm, humid, shaded conditions, eat sweet and sour food, and come out at night to forage for food. They have the characteristics of high weight gain, rapid development, hatching, large number of cocoons, strong adaptability, and long life. Earthworms are widely distributed on the earth, almost all over the country. According to statistics, there are about 27,000 species on the earth, and about 160 species in China. Earthworms used for fishing are basically Taiping No. 2. Suitable temperature for earthworm breeding: The activity temperature of earthworms is 5-30℃, they enter a dormant state at 0-5℃, and die below 0℃. The optimum temperature is about 20-27℃, which is also the optimum temperature for earthworm cocoons and eggs. They stop growing above 32℃ and die above 40℃. Therefore, in summer and autumn, shade sheds should be built to cool down the earthworms, and fires should be added to the sheds to heat up in winter to facilitate the normal growth and reproduction of earthworms. I have introduced some basic information about earthworms. Now I will tell you how I raise earthworms. It is better to use breathable and water-permeable containers for breeding, such as flower pots, bamboo tubes, wooden boxes, etc. I personally use this kind of foam box for fruits. Because this kind of foam box has good heat insulation, it is easy to control the breeding temperature of earthworms. The soil for earthworm breeding is a nutrient soil mixed with cow dung (fermented) and soil that I bought myself. Pour the soil into the box to a thickness of about 10 cm, spray the soil with a water sprayer and stir it with your hands (the same as when we fish). The soil should be slightly wet. There must not be too much water, because earthworms mainly breathe through their skin. When their skin is covered with water, earthworms cannot breathe normally and will suffocate to death. Similarly, the soil cannot be too dry, which will cause the earthworms to die of lack of oxygen. Don’t worry about it after putting the earthworms in. Earthworms are afraid of light and will burrow into the soil by themselves. The following is the food of earthworms. Earthworms like to eat leftovers, fruit peels, organic matter, and can even eat straw, paper, sawdust, leaves, etc. Earthworms like to eat sweet food and do not like bitter food. The deadly food for earthworms is the rotten leaves of cabbage stored in winter, which can kill earthworms immediately. Don't feed oranges to earthworms! Since I work in the fruit industry, it would be perfect to use the fruits that the company doesn't want to use to raise earthworms. If the fruit is left in there for a while, it will rot and the earthworms will eat it. I put the earthworms in the garage, and I am lazy. This leads to a lot of small flying insects in it. If you raise them at home, you can put less in the water and put it in frequently. Put it in after the earthworms have eaten, so there will be no flying insects. Such earthworms have a fruity scent and are naturally attractive to fish. This is my own experience in raising earthworms. |
