What are the costs and profits of raising earthworms?

Earthworm breeding is a very old project, but not many people can really raise them well. Earthworm is a precious Chinese medicinal material that can remove blood stasis and promote blood circulation. There is still a relatively large demand for it. If there is a market, then as long as it is well bred, it can still make money. This is for sure. Although the price of earthworms has dropped now, it still sells for 30-40 yuan per catty. The market price is still acceptable, but it is not as high as the price of more than 100 yuan per catty as circulated on the Internet.

Earthworms are omnivorous insects. Vegetable leaves, melon peels, forage grass, bran, corn flour, etc. are all ideal feeds for them. The feed raw materials are widely available and the breeding cost is low. The Minquan County Special Animal and Plant Breeding Experimental Field in Henan Province, which has been committed to the research and development of earthworms, has worked hard for several years and has explored a new technology for raising earthworms using a large amount of abandoned crop straw such as wheat straw, corn straw, and rice straw. This has become a major breakthrough in China's earthworm breeding technology. The use of this technology not only reduces the cost of earthworm breeding by more than 70%, and increases the breeding efficiency by multiples, but also turns a large amount of idle crop straw in rural areas into treasure, doubling its value.

To make money from earthworm breeding, good varieties and technology are the most important. In the past, some earthworm breeders did not make money, in addition to the fact that they lost a lot of profit margins due to high-priced seed speculation, to a large extent, it was because they adopted traditional backward breeding technology and introduced mixed and seriously degraded earthworm varieties. The use of straw breeding method combined with a three-dimensional breeding mode can increase the breeding efficiency and utilization rate of an ordinary farmhouse by more than 5 times. The three-dimensional field building can be made with whatever is available, such as idle ordinary farmhouses, plastic greenhouses with asbestos tiles, and cement boards. Small and medium-sized breeders can also use plastic basins as containers and use bamboo poles, wooden sticks, etc. to build frames for breeding. The annual net income of raising earthworms in an ordinary farmhouse using this three-dimensional breeding method is more than 20,000 yuan.

Warm reminder: Breeding is risky, so be cautious when investing! I hope that friends in the breeding industry will understand it before making a decision.
