How to transport earthworms?Water earthworms, also known as silk earthworms and red nematodes, are ideal baits for aquatic animals such as fish, turtles, shrimps, and crabs. Especially during the growth stage of the seedlings of these aquatic economic animals, they are nutritionally comprehensive and high in protein. For short-distance transportation, water earthworms are packed in boxes with a length of 0.63 meters, a width of 0.46 meters, and a height of 0.1 meters. The boxes are surrounded by wooden boards and the bottom of the boxes is stretched with polyethylene cloth. The shipping density is 3 to 4 kilograms. Water should be sprinkled frequently during the journey. A sunshade net should be set above and windshields should be set around to prevent sun exposure and wind. For long-distance transportation, nylon bags should be used for oxygenated transportation. Before transportation, they should be kept in micro-flowing water for 2 to 3 days to clear the intestines before transportation. For short-distance transportation, the goods are packed in wooden boxes with a length of 0.63 meters, a width of 0.46 meters, and a height of 0.1 meters. To prevent sun exposure and wind, a sunshade net should be installed on the top and windshields should be installed around. When long and wide transportation is required, and the journey time exceeds 3 hours, double-layer plastic film oxygen bags should be used for packaging. Each bag should contain no more than 10 kg of water earthworms, and 2 to 3 kg of clean water should be added with sufficient oxygen. When the temperature is high, an appropriate amount of ice cubes should be added to the bag to ensure safe transportation to the destination. |
